Description

P3 Snow White Build

This computer build is for our home office. It's the only computer in our home. Has to handle wife's Remote Desktop work from home, and my video editing / gaming / stuff.

To keep wife's approval, an all white and minimalist theme was the goal. Only LED is the white CPU cooler block. Water cooled because why not, and I hate the look of P3 chassis without 360mm worth of radiator, and it's quiet. Would've loved to do a hardline CPU/GPU loop, but $500 on a Chinese setup was out of budget.

Prefer it up on the dresser so the 2.5yo and 4mo don't get into it.

I've been building a part list for an all white build and this is damn near all the same parts I have pieced together. Clean.

Nice white build, good choice on the 580 although a pcie wireless adapter would have been better.

why 6th gen CPU?

I had just built a 9700k/Z390 setup for my brother. Not impressed with the power difference. Saved $200 on CPU and $100 on a similar-quality (aka: not budget) Z390 motherboard. Didn't want to go overkill on the graphics either, so they pair nicely. Budget was around $1,200. The extra cores are nice for video editing, lots of stuff running at same time, vs say a 9th gen i3 or i5 for the same price.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: It was extremely hard to find a WHITE overclockable Intel (Z) motherboard... This is pretty much it. Wish I could've found a nice Z270, Z370, or Z390 white motherboard, but couldn't. And I'm not about to spray paint it white either.

That's a BEAUTIFUL build. I like how it looks a lot with the tempered glass. Nice job!

Beautiful clean look. Absolutely stunning!

How does the open case build do with dust collection? always wanted to try out something like this but always worried about having to fight dust build up.

Now 3 months in, I can't see any dust at all. I figure maybe 1-2 times per year I'll take it to the garage and blow it off with compressed air?

I don't think the wife can complain haha. How'd you get the psu so nice and white? Great attention to detail. +1

Thank you! I disassembled the power supply (more intense than I expected) and painted the shell. Possibly a better alternative would've been to just purchase the white PSU line from EVGA, and extra $50.

Very sexy! Although it's pretty pricey for an RX 580 build. I guess that's the cost of looking good.
