Description

I have 3 goals in this build.
1.) CLEAN=HAVE NOTHING SHOWING LIKE CABLES, TRANSISTORS, CAPACITORS, NOTHING. 2.) Bring interior design elements into a PC, like clean hidden lighting, recessed lighting, cove lighting, and just have a super clean RGB build. 3.) Include skulls. :)

This took me 2 years to save up for, and no sponsored parts. It took 4 months, over 350 hours of work. I had to but a table saw and dremel moto saw for this. The mobo armor alone took me 75+

I have a build log here. but I am going to make a video as well.

https://forums.bit-tech.net/index.php?threads/punisher-nvc-build-no-visible-cables-pc-v3000.343805/

Please enjoy (And i choose 8600k because I ran out of money :( and I spent the last of my budget on a table saw) That and I game only, the hyperthreading wasnt enough to convince me to spend even farther past my budget.

ASTONISHINGLY CLEAN build. This has got to be featured! Excellence exemplified.

But those power tools inside the house? Surely you are not married!

Then again, if you are married, your spouse must deserve a medal for supporting your endeavor all out!

  • 2 points

nope it doesnt have to be featured apparently, yes im sour about it lol what do i have to do if 4 months of work doesnt deserve a feature?

  • 2 points

I have no real insight into how builds are selected to be featured. I'm sure if yours got picked it would feel especially good, not just for the effort you put forth, but as a validation of your design aesthetic.

With many excellent builds showing up you may not see yours on the front page, so I hope you feel good about what you've accomplished no matter what.

I do believe you've raised the bar on "cable management" and I anticipate we'll start to see additional "cable free" designs inspired by what you've shown here. Great builds are going to keep coming, but the inspiring ones are fewer and farther in between. Thanks again for sharing!

  • 2 points

eh, its fine, the users nice words mean more anyways! Thanks so much

  • 1 point

oh and honestly the whole time I was making this, I was thinking 3 things. 1.) I hope it gets featured here or reddit 2.) I hope someone gets inspired and also makes a NVC build. (No visible cable) 3.) I hope next build I do can get some parts for free, sponsored, if they like this one enough. The last 2 of those will take some time, but the first I will know in the next week or two.

haha no but my roomate HATED me for 4 months. A garage would be so useful....
Oh and being featured would make me so happy, a great way to verify all the hard work is super appreciated by other builders. I wonder, do they just like, notice your build in the list and potentially put it up for feature or do I have to do something......hmmm

I’m calling a feature, 100% garunteed. It’s not that I faintly smell a feature, the whole build reeks of effort and feature-worthiness.

This is a new level of clean, well done I never considered having a pc with no cables visible, and the look of the build succeeds that.

Take a breath but I think this is an overwhelmingly deserved feature.

Take my +1.

Came across this build while looking at the Maximus X Hero

While its a shame that it didn't get featured, you might have caused it with getting butthurt over it not getting featured.

Outside of that looks great expect it looks like a CPU block on the CPU and not a monoblock yet you covered the VRMs so they won't get much airflow and will get toasty

Maybe you put thermal pads down, dunno

  • 1 point

Yea i posted a reddit post with pics and a video of the monitoring process for heat. I got temp probes and monitored through software, then got a temp gun and monitored with that as well. Absolutely no effects whatsoever having those covered due to my fans above blowing air directly down on them, and the holes in the heatsinks allow airflow right down on those VRMS.

I didnt get butthurt until AFTER they posted 2 other features that came out AFTER mine did.

  • 1 point

To make it even cleaner that cpu water block should be eks acetal black color or their rgb version so you could shine some white light through like the rest of your build. But this is still VERY clean! +1 ;)

oh and honestly it was supposed to be white, when i started I was going to buy Primochill vue white, they kept saying, "any week it will be released", then kept pushing it back, 5 months later its still not out yet. Now I dont even know if I want Vue now, as I keep hearing horror gunk stories..... Thanks though

Yeah it's kind boggling actually... 94 like w/o a feature... You must of really pissed someone off... When you first put this up I noticed everytime someone mentioned anything about a feature someone down voted all those comments. Didn't know why..... It's a loved build non the less by other

Did you use the Dremel to cut the holes in the acrylic for the motherboard armor? Also, this is probably the single best looking build I have ever seen. It's only a matter of time before you get featured.

  • 1 point

I started with the dremel moto saw thats so popular among modders now, that cut the bulk out, I purposely cut it 2-3 mm shorter than I was supposed to in case my measurements were off, then I used dremel to grind away a couple mm at a time and kept trying to fit it on. If you cut to much its hard to fix (but possible with putty and weldon and a steady hand), but its easy to shave some mm off.

Mind taking a picture of your whole setup on your desk like your monitor(s), keyboard, and mouse? I hope it looks as clean as the PC does. Great job on it. If only I could build something that clean...

  • 2 points

My whole setup is, eh, its ok, if you look at my other completed builds I have a pic in there, its still the same. But I am currently saving up, a couple hundred bucks is what i need, and Im going to build an epic desk setup to match this beautiful build. I just need some money....and a little time

  • 1 point

what did you do with your previous build, did you sell it? Great build, totally my type, when i first saw it i was astonished at how i could not see any type of cables, capacitors, anything +1 great job!

  • 1 point

No but i stole the pump, res, and GPU from it. So I slapped a spare H100 on it, and its just sitting in my other room not being used. Works great, its just GPU-less. Shame. I tried to sell it on a marketplace, no takers yet, maybe ill use it as a PLEX server....

  • 1 point

why would you need a server?

  • 1 point

For plex, we have alot of music/movies, we like to share with roommates or family, plex is awesome, it allows people to upload whatever they purchase or download onto a server, then everyone with the password can access it from their smart tv, or phone or whatever.

  • 1 point

Beautifully made, I wish that was my build.

  • 1 point

Once you have components adding extra stuff isnt too expensive, a dremel, a dremel moto saw, and a hand held drill is all you need. Those 3 together about $220, plus buying the acrylic itself, another $20-60.

  • 1 point

Ah yes

  • 1 point

Such a damn beauty. I'm completely transfixed on the cover (armor) you put on the motherboard, I'd love to do that myself. Will be looking forward to your build video!

  • 1 point

Yea the whole build started with that idea, and morphed around that. That was the focal point. No one out of the 200 comments totaled has noticed the skull in the center is floating, can you guys tell it is in the pictures or does it not come across in the pictures I took?

  • 1 point

Ah, yes it is. It's difficult to tell that the skull is on a higher layer than the backing, the angles and dark lighting makes it difficult to tell. I thought it just a cool-looking SSD cover, but looking at it in detail you can tell it was made with detail in mind.

  • 1 point

Beautiful nothing more to say. Amazing you did this with just those tools. Do you have experience building already? Or another type of design?

This game together so good dude great work!

  • 2 points

Nope, each of the tools I have, and I didnt include the table saw, I had NEVER used before. I think thats partly why it took 4 months. If I built it again right now, I could probably do it in 2 now that I know how to use those tools. Lots of trial and error. With an emphasis on error. Lol, I keep saying, making amazing builds doesnt require skill, it requires the ability to fail and keep trying, its persistence.

  • 1 point

Why hasn't this been featured yet?!?!

Waiting..........

  • 1 point

just put it up day or two ago. Also, i have No idea how that works, like is it a feature a month, and if so do you have to submit it, or do moderators just look around and pick one. Like no clue how that works, i asked someone else and got 0 responses. But thanks though!

  • 1 point

Well from my experience and I have 4 under my belt... The featured Builds are up for 3 days. Usually takes a day to a week at the absolute most for a build to be featured after you put it up. There has been a LOT of quality builds lately so your might be on a short list but trust me... It's on the list!! You should see it soon. I've seen some amazing builds this past week or so and your is at the top in my opinion.

This one too.... Nice PROJECT APOCRYPHA - CASEMODS AND HARDLINE - 1700X - 1080TI - LIAN LI PC-O9

  • 1 point

oh haha ive seen some of your builds, I saw your HTPC on youtube and commented I liked it! We briefly talked before, thats hilarious, yea you def have some nice builds.

Oh and Yea I commented on his build, "Dangit Man you might take that spot of feature instead of me, this is sweet build very nice" I assumed it was like one a month or something.

And there are alot of nice builds lately, but not many are out of the box different like mine, so originality should get me a few points on there system I would think. Thanks though!

  • 1 point

You have waaaaay too many votes to be passed up. This is the cleanest build and people are loving it!! It'll be featured.... And thank you. Glad you like my work!!

Great build, but I'm guessing it must be a pain to take everything apart to do maintenance :p

  • 2 points

I fear the day I have to remove the CPU and swap it. At first it was the reservoir that was the fear, siiting in that custom bracket held on with 1 tiny tiny screw and a drop of superglue, there was no room for tubing to squeeze in, or secure enough to force tubes in. Thank god for someone telling me about that fitting barrow makes, the "EXPANABLE/RETRACTABLE extender fitting". That thing is freaking amazing, i dont know how I had never heard of those. Lifesavers they are, for situations like the reservoir, and other tight fits.

  • 1 point

I'm sorry you didn't get that feature. Maybe it'll be up later.

But HOT DANG! The pristine look inside the case is absolutely my cuppa tea, plus the black tubing and the clear fluid? I can't breathe...

I've got to see if I can pull this look off in a custom ITX case...

Anyways, amazing job, bro. Possibly the best "subtle" design I've seen on this site.

Dear pcpartpicker.com,

This is very confusing. Why is this build that is a beautiful unique build that truly is a one of a kind build that has almost 100 likes w/o being featured not getting a feature? I have had 5 featured builds on this site and non are as nice as this build... Can someone, administrator or whom ever please chime in and explain this?

Thank you,

customgtp

wow man i think thats the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for me. thanks alot for that! I made a video last night of the build process, as i had many requests to see how i did it, and they didnt want to read a long 14 page build log. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETOhM52gWHI&t=105s

You're welcome bro. It just sucks that this didn't see a feature... The newest feature once again is beautiful but.... Not original. I'll watch that vid in a little. Sounds great. I subbed too already. I even reported my comment just so they can read it... Lol

  • 1 point

haha, the video isnt that great lol, im not that good at making videos. But thats hilarious you reported your comment. I think they choose builds with really nice pictures, like people who use DSLRs maybe.

  • 1 point

You did great... Video is more interesting than most time lapse videos which I am not a fan of. I'd love to start working with acrylic. This is an inspiring build.

Did you use windows movie maker?

  • 1 point

yea windows movie maker, how did you know?

Oh and to your message: yea i already accepted they just don't like it. I think they don't like me personally, maybe made some comments in the past, or maybe they like nicer quality pics like i mentioned earlier, but who knows.
I would start on another build, but I cant afford it. Maybe I can ask for sponsorship. Ill start working on some designs, and I will work on that.... Thanks though for everything!

  • 1 point

Hey man! I didnt even know I was a contestant until the voting was over, but I got entered into bit techs modding competition for last month and won. I also just found out I am the number 1 most liked post of all time on reddits watercooling forum. Thats a HUGE replacement for being snubbed here. I just told one other guy on here who just messaged me, but between that and peoples nice words like yours, that more than makes up for the snub here. Thanks again, I just thought you might like to hear that!

  • 1 point

Yep. No feature and you currently have over 100 likes... At least there is a site that appreciates your build huh.... Your not the only one tho. Not sure what they are doing but I've seen other builds that deserve a spotlight and get passed on... Oh well.and some of the ones chosen too lately :/

thanks man for the nice words. They might have snubbed me but I got lots of recognition elsewhere, I made it to Ek's Hall of fame, won bit techs mod competition for May, and I am the all time top post/ liked post, on reddit's watercooling forum. So between that and the kind words from people like you, i couldn't ask for more!
