Well as the title suggests, I am using it for game development and slight gaming because I like to play games and the GPU came with Rocket League (my friend also bought me CSGO because he wanted to play it so badly). I know I shouldn't have gotten a 1060 6GB if I wasn't playing games that often but eh, I had 250 more dollars to spend to reach the max of the budget so I did. Overall, I am extremely impressed with this machine, it actually responds when I click or type something. I came from a pretty standard laptop from 2014, so the euphoria from the speed of this thing is still lingering, and literally anything was better than that laptop. (I went to clear my laptop the other day, and another boost of euphoria hit me). Everything works well and as intended, it even exceeded my expectations. This was my fault, but I didn't know that the PSU cords were like rainbow colored, and I tried as best as I could to have a black scheme going but the WiFi card offset it even more. Just a side note though, I bought my GPU for 250 USD, and right now at the time of writing this, Outlet PC is charging 400 dollars for it (just to let you know I didn't spend that much on it). Sorry for the crappy quality of the photos, was taken on my phone.

Part Reviews

The budget didn't allow for the i7-6700k or 7700k, so I settled for no hyperthreading, but this CPU is a monster with everything I've used it for so far. (note: I don't render videos or anything so keep that in mind).

CPU Cooler

Was the top result when I went to look for one on this site, so I picked it. It works as intended and I don't know how it would compare to a water cooler but this one it fine as I don't game too often. The installation had me sweating beads as I thought I'd have to return it and get a new one, but it does fit on the motherboard and is doing a good job. 4 stars only because of the pool of sweat on the ground and hard installation.

I really should have looked into this as this probably had way more than I needed but it works and the BIOS is friendly, no problem with it. The RGB is a nice touch too, I prefer the pulsing mode with the color of white.

Just RAM, got it for the cool name and color scheme.

So so fast, I really enjoy it and hope the speed of it doesn't degrade at a fast pace. Would have liked to get the 500GB version but again, budget.

I like it and the color, although I can't see it. Got it for the brand and am completely fine with the space of it.

Video Card

As stated earlier, I really did not need to get this, but it's nice to know I have the power if I want to run any game I have at 1080p on Ultra (or w/e setting is the max for games). If you are curious, it runs CSGO at frame rates way higher than anyone would ever need (iirc 800+ with frame rate cap off) and GTA at a good 90 FPS at 1080p on maxed settings. Rocket League's cap is 250 and it never dips below 250, but the temperature for all the games really makes the inside of the computer toasty, maybe around 70 C for the GPU. Slight downside is that is doesn't stop when idle but I can't even hear it so there are zero problems.

I love the case and the style of it, the inside had plenty of room to work with and it is still quite empty with everything installed. Came with two case fans and that's all I'm using right now, will probably buy two more in the future. Sad thing it didn't fit on my desk with both monitors so it's sitting on the ground with the glass case not on display. :(

Power Supply

I found a relatively cheap one with good reviews so I knew it would last me a long time. Wanted to save some money on the bill so I got the Bronze version and hopefully will last me a while.

Wireless Network Adapter

WiFi Network Adapter - Does it's job, no complaints. (wish it was black tho so my whole case would be black-ish).

Literally just chose a random one that had HMDI and DVI slots, is a good monitor and again have no complaints.

I got this before I had the computer because I knew I was going to get this computer and I wanted a cool RGB keyboard. Feels extremely nice with the keys and it even has a USB bypass which is always a nice touch.

Looks awesome! Is this your first build? Also which engine do you use? I'm also into game development ;)

Sorry for the late response, I am planning on using Unreal Engine 4. Yeah, this is my first build, I think it turned out pretty okay. Do you use Discord?

WSC 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

It's fine :P.

I do use discord (and also skype and twitter). I normally use Unity 5 as my primarily engine but I've also used Unreal Engine 4. I'm also going to build a PC in the next week or so (It'll also be my first gaming pc/build).

I'm Ango#9901 on Discord if you want to add me, and dope man! I hope the experience goes great for you as it did for me. Let me know what it turns out to look like, or link the build if you want. Also, I am still kinda new to UE4 and need to read the documentation and watch tutorials, but I want game development to be my career,

WSC 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Me too! I'll definitely add you!

Aight, sounds good.

Ok, what do you mean? I said I got it because it came with my GPU. (not trying to be rude or anything)
