I haven't owned a good PC in a long, long time. I built one back in 2003, but never upgraded it. I have weak laptop I use for small productivity projects. I wanted a good PC to play some 1440x144hz gaming, and in the future I intend to use it as a music production machine, both for recording live sound and also building beats in Ableton, etc.

Having not built in so long, it took me a while to assemble everything. At first it wouldn't power on, which I later determined was because I had plugged the 4-pin PWM connector from the case into the CPU Fan port instead of the CPU ALT port. Once I got it powered on, I had plugged the display port cable into the mobo instead of the graphics card so nothing displayed. Plugged the display port cord into the video card and voila. The thing runs beautifully and cool even under heavy gaming load. All in all it was a lot of fun and I love the thing to death.

Fantastic build! How much difference does the 144Hz monitor make over the standard 60 Hz? How quiet/loud does the R1 sound under load for you?

144hz...it's way smoother. You have to experience it, though.

Imo the cooler carries much of the aesthetic. Good looking build! Check my build out man we have almost the same set up. :)
