Description

4th of July sale...... I bought an i7 7700k. Figured if I'm going to upgrade I'm going all the way to 4.2ghz probably not going to run a full benchmark. Going from g4560 to 7700k, self explanatory I bet.

After benchmarks, I found a lot to be the same... So I decided to actually put on some games and play.... Wow what a difference. The 7400 probably would of been just fine I just never fully tested it just benchmarks

My Vault 303 (Fallout build) Vertical GPU Build

This is my bedroom computer. My second computer you could say. I mostly us it for internet, watch late night shows and occationally game.....but not too often. My main pc has a 6700k/1080 GTX build. I just did the vertical gpu and changed the cpu to an i5 but the performance wasn't worth the price so I put back the g4560. You have to own a g4560 to appreciate it I guess. I love this cpu and I'm sticking with it!!

CPU: just purchased an i7 7700k This was my write up on the g4560 I chose the g4560 because I was curious...I had an overclockeded FX 6300 and wanted to see if the dual core can kick its azz and it holds up a little more yes!! I It was $65...I can upgrade later if needed, but for now ....and for me... This works perfect! (I actually just purchased an i5 7400 cpu. I put it in and tested it out. Before I bought it I tried to research it and couldn't find much but opinions, but in the end it wasn't worth the $185 price tag when it clearly doesn't do much more than the $65 g4560 in my computer. So I boxed it up and sent it back and decided to keep the g4560. It plays my games and videos just fine in 1080p)

Motherboard: MSI B250M Arctic... Well I liked the design. Goes well with the white. I'm not in need of an overclocking motherboard.

Ram: Same as the mobo...I went with 16gb Ballistix grey and white combo that matched the motherboard.

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB ROG STRIX OC Edition ....Plasti dip used. I could of saved some money, yes and bought an EVGA or AMD, or the 3gb model, I know...I spent $305 w/ $30 mail-in rebate. I just liked the look and it seemed faster than the other 1060's....money wasn't a concern...my 970 GTX was 80c at load this is 62c Gaming mode: 1620 MHz Boost Clock OC mode: 1873 MHz Gaming mode: 1847 MHz

GPU Vertical Mount:

Vertical Graphics Card Holder by Ice Wolf - Cooler Master Store

EZDIY NEW PCI Express 16x Flexible Cable Card Extension Port Adapter High Speed Riser Card-25cm from Amazon

CPU Cooler: I purchased the Thermaltake 3.0 360mm liquid cooler for only $70, I know it is overkill but the 303 case screams for a 3 fan radiator and this was the perfect deal and I like the aesthetics of it! With Thermaltake 3.0 temps peaked 47c on benchmark!!

Benchmarks: (Average FPS) All Highest settings & no vsync (I used MSI Gaming App to force cpu in Gaming Mode@ 3.5ghz) g4560/1060 6gb vs i5 7400/1060 6gb Quad Core vs Dual Core Hyperthreaded Processor.....

A little about myself. I have 2 builds of my own and one for my son. All gaming rigs. I build pc's for friends and. Coworkers for fun and hobby. I do like to add some on here when I'm done to show them off.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Nice and big. Slim too. Almost hidden

Motherboard

Very nice non-oc motherboard. Could use more usb slots in the back, but looks really good. Very mild led lights on board. Bios is okay.

Memory

Decent ram that matched my MSI B250M MORTAR ARCTIC Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard. Could be cheaper.

Memory

Decent ram that matched my MSI B250M MORTAR ARCTIC Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard. Could be cheaper.

Storage

Ive had this for years now. No problem, Nice and fast!

Video Card

Amazing gpu. Nice Aura RGB lighting on shroud and 3 fans to keep it around 50c.

Case

Love this case. A good case to display great components. Requires a lot of aftermarket fans because it doesn't come with any but most would buy new ones anyway

Power Supply

The CX500 can be put down by most. Ive been using it for almost 4 years and no problems. I ran AMD oc'd and 970 gtx on this thing with no problem. So it works my low power intel and gpu fine

Case Fan

The best white non-led fan on the market. I wanted white and no led's and that's hard to find

how did you not benchmark fallout 4? lol, nice build +1

KingKiller1759 2 Builds 7 points 11 months ago

Looks weird seeing such a high end cooler cooling such a low end chip haha.

Awesome looking build man

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 6 points 11 months ago

Yeah I got a good deal on it. I know not needed but I like it

Design1stcode2nd 5 Builds 5 points 11 months ago

Nice to see the stats on the g4560 vs 7400, seems like the Kaby Lake Pentium is one of the few bones Intel gave to gamers on a budget.

I almost went with a G4600 but ended up getting a deal on a Ryzen 1400 instead.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Yeah I actually bought the 7400 out of curiosity. Wanted to know if it was worth the 3x price tag and it isn't for me

lorenzog.music 1 Build 5 points 11 months ago

+1 for the build

+4,569,234 for the wallpaper.

Lyrix 4 points 11 months ago

Damn! That asus card looks dope... maybe i should paint mine too!

FlipLaw 1 Build 2 points 11 months ago

Beautiful. You make me wanna paint my strix card.

INFLCT 2 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

The build looks great! What modification(s) did you make to instal the gpu vertically?

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Thank you very much. I appreciate it truly!! I actually didn't have to mod it at all, just paint. The case has no dividers between the pci brackets, so no cutting needed. I purchased this:

Vertical Graphics Card Holder by Ice Wolf - Cooler Master Store

INFLCT 2 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

That looks perfect, I've been trying to find a solution without cutting to much unreversable damage to my case to mount my gpu vertically. I only found a dual slot from mountianmod but CM came to the rescue with 4 slots. Thank you

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

I was excited about that too but the riser ribbon gets in the way of anything else you want to mount. I had to sell off my wifi card

INFLCT 2 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Darn, not exactly what I want to hear but I'm will to make due. What riser cable do you have or recommend?

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

This one looks good and is a little shorter so less ribbon slack

riser cable 19cm

Demcarz 2 points 11 months ago

Dude! How did you get you're card mounted like that!? I have the the 1080 strip and the black inwin 303, I'm getting my parts to run a custom water loop but if I can figure out how to mount my card like that It will change my loop. What parts do I need etc. thank you! Build looks super sweet btw!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 3 points 11 months ago

YES!!! Fellow 303 owner!! okay lets get you vertical!

Get one of these...... VERTICAL GRAPHICS CARD HOLDER BY ICE WOLF I think there site is down until after the 4th of July

And get a good riser cable. I purchased this EZDIY High Speed Riser Card They have 9cm or 25cm.... I bought the 25cm. It's long but it tucks behind, 9cm might be too short...

That's it. It was actually easy. Been wanting to do this for awhile... Good luck!!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 3 points 11 months ago

The EZDIY is working good for me with no issues but it is a little tight if you look at picture 12. The riser cable bends and hits the bottom of case. Not sure if itll be an issue. I dont think so

Look at this cable. It looks shorter...... Premium Gold Plated 16x PCI-E Extension Shielded Cable Riser (19cm)

Some0ne 2 points 11 months ago

would have been a 10/10 if the vault boy on the front panel was black and white , 9.5/10 this way xd

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

I'll take that.... Thank you

LeMMingSlayeR 17 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

I love everything about this build, especially the theme.

On a side note, i haven't seen a trackman since Fallout 3 XD

+1

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Maybe since fallout 2 haha... I'm set In my ways and it works for me!! Thank you slayer

jsoutherland89 4 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Clean as ever. Glad you snagged a featured spot with this one. Keep up the great work!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Thank you!!

ab15891 2 points 11 months ago

You should put the vault 111 gear logo on top of the cpu block to cover that water 3.0 logo. But otherwise dude holy cow you are killing it!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

That gives me mod ideas... Thank you.

homieOstasis 2 points 11 months ago

I like the placement of the LED strips. I have the same case and was thinking about doing something like this. What strips are you using?

PachonikBG 2 points 11 months ago

Whi did you get a 360 rad whit g4560?

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago
  1. I prefer liquid coolers
  2. I a had a zalman lq320 but the boards i/o cover was in the way and couldn't mount
  3. I bought a Cryorig c7. Temps were worse than stock so I sold that
  4. I was looking for a liquid that I could top mount on the 303 case and found this for only $70
  5. I like the way it looks in the case
  6. If I upgrade to another cpu I already have a boss cooler for it
customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Mainly cause the 303 seems like it needs a 360mm on the top fans and it was a good price tho

Caminon 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

I wish more companies made 360mm rads, though it seems corsair will be dropping one soon.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

NZXT would be nice too. Love there newer products. Love to get one

gunhazard 2 points 10 months ago

That moment when you realize you bought this guys gpu! I knew I saw this build before when I saw the eBay pictures haha

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

You bought my 1060?!? Yeah I even sent you a link of the build I believe... You going to post your build up here?

gunhazard 1 point 10 months ago

As soon as I get everything purchased and built :P I’ve been holding back on building a pc for years so I figured that if I just bought a gpu then I would have to get the rest lol

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

I just put up the rebuild with my new gpu

https://pcpartpicker.com/b/3WcYcf

gunhazard 2 points 10 months ago

Dang that looks sick. Especially with the vertical mounted gpu. How’d you do that and does that work with most cases?

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thank you. It is a vertical mount bracket from cooler master cmstore.com called... Something wolf. Its in my write up description I believe. You could use it with most mid tower cases just not the micro/mini cases. Needs enough pci slots bracket... You can check out this too

https://pcpartpicker.com/b/3WcYcf

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

And this one even too. I used same bracket on this

AphexSun 1 Build 2 points 6 months ago

TableTerrorMatt 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Love the theme behind it!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Thank you! Fallout fan I take it?? As am I as you can see.... Did you look at the older fallout build in my library?

TableTerrorMatt 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Of course, it's a great series! And not yet but I'll be sure to check it out!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

It's the same case just amd and a 970 gtx... It was a little older but still very clean...Thanx for looking!!

cmvjax 2 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Expert cooling for a G4560, lil overkill.

Looks good!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Thanx

Some cool with stock coolers and some go bigger. This case and top fan setup seems to be made for a 360mm cooler and I found one for $70 and couldn't pass up on it.... I like it

Franko74SR 3 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Really nice build. I really like what you have done with the white color scheme, I really like the all-white builds, Great part choice. I also like the vertical GPU mount, it really brings the build together, I also like the SSD sticker, where did you get that?

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Hey Sal... Thank you.. I purchased the ssd cover from... Umm... Some frozen place.. Haha. Coldzero I think it's called.

Franko74SR 3 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

ok, thank you very much, I have a white ASUS TUF board and that would be really nice to have in my build

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago
Experience 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Nice build... sees logitech trackman well i'm sure there's a good reason for thi- faints

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

There is a reason they make a trackman... Me I guess!! I absolutely LOVE trackballs. I've used them for years. I know it unconventional for most but that's what I like

Experience 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

but... like... especially in shooters... they are less accurate. sure, you could get used to them... but arent mice just way less of a hassle? I was just thinking maybe you dont have enough space but that doesnt seem like the case.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

I use the 29" wide for working on the pc and I game on the 55" in a big chair with an Xbox controller. I don't do online competitive gaming

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

To me a mouse is unconventional, to me!! I believe if you got use to a trackman you might see that you are more accurate in a shooter ... Works both ways ;)

Experience 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

understandable, have a great day!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

You too. Thanks for looking

BoiLogro 2 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

That painted gpu <3

Paulochromis 1 point 11 months ago

Very nice. Curious about fans, though. The side view shows 6 fans (1 rear exhaust, 2 bottom intake, 3 on the radiator), but the parts list has 8. Where are the others? On the top? On the front?

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Good question. There are 2 Thermaltake fans on the rear inside of the case for a push pull on my overly excessive cooler on a pentium haha. Figured if I got it I'll use it

krapphlat 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Ooooooooooooh so now I see why you've been hanging around all the monochrome builds customgtp!

+1 also a little jealous... Jus'a'lil, but it's there :P

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Yes I'm a fan and love your build too by the way....

check it out peeps

SirMints 2 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Only 5 minutes after seeing yesterday, I hit the "Buy Now" button on a PCIe extension of my own. Thank you for this build.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Sweet... Glad I could help. Had to Google a lot. Tried a bracket of my own but the card wasn't straight. Found the wolf bracket on cm site

Cam84 2 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Nice build! People never consider you buy parts for perf and aesthetic purposes, I myself don't want an ugly beater that's fast as hell but looks like a potato lol

bobarhett13 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Well, you took my place on the Featured Build slot, but for good reason! Yours looks AWESOME. I think everyone will appreciate your benchmarks on the 1060 too. Well done and congrats on the feature!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Thank you! I was actually doing the benchmarks to show that the g4560 can hang with a lower end i5. Also to justify when people yell at me for my cpu choice

bobarhett13 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Yep. The 1060 is good! I tried to talk my wife into going with it for hers to save cost.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

The 1060.. Especially the 6gb version, is a great balance of cards for the price. 50% better than a 1050 ti and I've used and tested both

bobarhett13 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Good to know. Now a lot of my friends have messaged me asking about what to build for their kids. 1060 may be the ticket.

islandg@m3r 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

OMG A FELLOW FALLOUT FAN!!! It is my fav game ever right on the same level as growing up with Gran Turismo. My current build I had for 5 years now was Fallout Themed, Mine was Mainly Black & Yellow with Vault Boy Vinyls though. If I could give you more props I would, take my +1 Awesome build. =)

https://pcpartpicker.com/builds/edit/?userbuild=MJvV3C - Current Build, excuse the dust and poor quality of the images. The Pics r roughly 4 years old, I've constantly kept my system clean since then LOL

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Yes yes, not too many fallout build out there.... And I searched... Thank you!!

That link was your edit link.... This is the right link if anyone wants to look. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/MJvV3C

islandg@m3r 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

no prob. And thx. =)

OllieManMan 8 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Nice upgrade! good work on the paint. =+1 ma man!

Can you put a link to the gpu riser you used? I think I used the same one I just want to see it.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Thanx Olli... It is a 25cm cable from EZDIY from Amazon . The Thermaltake had bad reviews and people having issues so I went with this one

OllieManMan 8 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

I also found that the ezdiy was the best one. No problems with mine so far. Did you have to bend/ fold it at the bottom? looks tight

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

It is very tight. I folded it. Benchmark a gaming hasn't been problematic but if it becomes I can blame it on the fold

OllieManMan 8 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

also did you make or buy the awesome bracket?

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Bought it from cooler master website.

DominicBoccella 1 point 11 months ago

shadowcrafter01 2 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

hey, is that passmark test of the entire computer or the cpu alone? just wondering cause my little amd fx 4350 got 5549 when my entire build gets more like 3000 or below

oh and i like it much, +1 of course

and if i could've gone back and redone my build i would've gotten a pentium like that, wasnt as educated on pc stuff back then

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 0 points 11 months ago

I'm not sure. I just clicked benchmark on the program both times. Didn't change any settings... I'm not familiar with how the program works but your cpu still is a 4 core 4.2ghz unlocked and the pentium is dual 3.5ghz with hyper and 7400 is quad 3.0ghz and both locked so any similarities In a test doesn't surprise me...

Thank you!!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

okay I had to look and this is what I found about a passmark score

The overall Passmark Rating is not an average or a sum of the sub scores. This rating is limited by the weakest component in the system. So even if you had an extremely really fast CPU but only average memory and HDD then your overall score would still only be average.

Anyansayo 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Wow. Those benchmarks really surprised me. I guess in this case the core count doesn't really matter. I have put together a part list with an i3 7350K but some people have told me it would make the 1070 perform "not up to it's potential". But now after seeing this, I'm thinking that it wouldn't be too bad.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Yeah, I hated to send the cpu back but the scores were way to close. I'll go with an i7 layer if I want to upgrade

But honestly I would use a 1060 for my g4560 or an i3, but the 1070 is a big jump from 1060 and I would go higher so it doesn't hold the 1070 back

I put a 6600k and an Asus in my son's pc....

And yes to all the haters of my g4560, I bought... And gave my son a 6600k and I used the g4560

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

And a good guide is to go to 3DMarks website and punch in what cpu and gpu ur using and see the difference in people's scores. I did and a 1070 with my little cpu is not a good idea so an i3 probably the same

Anyansayo 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Okay. I could understand a slight bit of performance inefficiency, but still that is pretty amazing that a Pentium dual core can come close to an i5 quad core in performance. if you look at my many part list plans, you could see that I have done an i3, i5, and i7 version for trying to decide what to do. I'd probably go with the i5, but if I have enough money to just buy an i7, I'd do that. But what you have done is pretty amazing and I guess gives the people that have a bit less money to spend some hope that they can still run good games on a budget processor. And the 1060 is a fantastic mid range GPU with very good performance. I have one in my current desktop and I love it's performance.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

The 7400 is quad 3.0ghz with 3.5 turbo and the g4560 is dual with hyper at 3.5ghz. Most of the games and unigine benchmarks were the same and that did 100% surprise me too.

A higher ghz chip like a 7600k would probably be much better than the 7400 I chose. Maybe next time. Good luck

Anyansayo 1 Build 2 points 11 months ago

I think that it is awesome that in only one of your benchmarks it dropped below 60FPS but was still just as high as you'd ever really need it. (59FPS)

Sick build! Love the white color scheme. So much that I have a build with the same look, which also includes an asus strix card which I would love to be painted white to match the rest of the build. I was wondering how you went about doing that, and also if you think it was a good decision to use plasti dip over some kind of heat resistant paint. Also, nice job on including benchmarks that was a really good idea! +1

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Thank you very much. I used the plasti dip because it is what I had in hand. Was using it for a body kit on my car. I've painted card before just using regular paint. The gpu shell doesn't get hot and if you touch your backplate it usually cool to warm. I don't think special paint is really needed... But that's me

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

And I included the benchmarks just cause I knew people would get all bent out of shape over my g4560 which they still did and wanted to show that my cpu choice isn't as bad as people think. It ran almost or just as good as a low end i5 for $65

XidaxObliterator 3 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

lol, I think its a great choice on a budget and I've recommended it to some of my friends.

XidaxObliterator 3 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Yeah someone mentioned that yesterday. It's a great idea. To bad I don't know anyone with a 3d printer huh. I'll think of something

Thank you

I found this. Could be attached to the pump. Light weight too. Paint it white.

riopower 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

This is amazing. I am also building budget build considering g4560 and was wonder if there would be any difference compared to 7400 or similar higher tier chips. I can totally rule out considering i3 or i5 now. Now only if I can get g4560 at 65 :( +1

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

The g4560 is better than people think. It games fine for me and most of my settings are high/ultra at 1080p 60hz.

I bought mine from Newegg for $65 and last month bought one for my friend for $62 shipped and tax free. It can be found

Thanks for replying. I am checking every day looking for the g4560 for that price range but no luck so far. Due to mining all the low to mid end pc parts are inflated as hell...

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Well I just bought an i7 7700k on sale this morning and put mine up for auction on ebay

riopower 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Oh is there particular reason you are upgrading to i7?

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Not really

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

And I have an addiction problem.... to upgrades so I figured if go all the way to 4.2ghz

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Oh and I tried the i5 and didn't see a big jump. 4th July sale got this at $325 so I'll give this a try

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Hey, Newegg just emailed me. $62 right now.

Here is a great deal on the Intel Pentium G4560 Kaby Lake Dual-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1151 54W BX80677G4560 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 610 , http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G5EG4544 I found.

riopower 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Ahhh crap... I bought it from Newegg few days ago at $73 lol. Thanks for the heads up though.

zrhaskell 1 point 11 months ago

I like this but you have the hottest part of the radiator blowing straight into the PSU. I would do just a two-fan radiator.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Thank you. I have 5 fans in the radiator in a push pull so generally I'm not to concerned with overheating my psu. That cpu doesn't get to hot but I'll keep an eye on it. Thank you for the advice

AryanPtl 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Hey look! Another 303 owner. Welcome to the family :)

And the pentium is a great chip. Cheap and amazing for gaming. But don't dis the i5-7400, it's meant for gaming and handling graphics, the pentium is not meant for programs like cinebench and Photoshop. Il make it simple, Pentium: Great for gaming and costs a heck lot less. I5-7400: Meant for more design things. In your case you are a gamer so the pentium is perfect. Anyways Great Build +1

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

I'll check out ur rig...

Wasn't dissin the 7400 just bought it and it didn't overly outperform the g4560 enough for me to spend $189 when I had a g4560 on hand. Was hoping for a little bit more when I benchmarked

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

And Thank you

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Very nice... All white too... I like

AryanPtl 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Lol thx, and yea I understand your point. The pentium is great bang for your buck.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

OK I have to say I should of given that 7400 a chance.. I got a 7700k now and did benchmarks had same results. Same fps in many games...

But the actual game play... I never gave the 7400 a chance and this 7700k is stutter free on my games so far

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

I upgraded to another cpu but still a fan of this cpu

Watch this....

Otterman366 3 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Awesome build over all, but considering you have a b250 mobo I would have gone with a non k 7700, since you can't overclock anyway

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

The price difference was not that much, like 20, and the K is 4.2ghz w/4.5ghz turbo and non K is 3.6ghz.... Figured if I can't oc I might as well get the fastest one.

Thank you

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

And crap, Newegg shows the 7700k @ 309.99 vs 7700 @ 304.99 only $5 more for .6ghz bump... That's better than what I paid though

Otterman366 3 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Did you custom paint the video card? Or did I miss a special edition

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

I couldn't get a hold of a HoF card here in the US and loved the 3 fans cards, Asus and zotac. So I plasti dipped it. I love the look of the Asus strix

ImperiousBattlestar 1 point 11 months ago

Beautiful build, everything looks great. Love the vertical GPU mod as well. +1 :)

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Thank you

DJFITTYK 1 point 10 months ago

Lovely build bro. I'm currently purchasing all the components i need or my first build. I'm heavily considering vertically mounting my cpu but i don't think its going to be as east as yours was. Wish me luck!

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thank you. It was easy in this case just because the pci slots had no dividers and the bracket was easy. I also did it in this build with a phanteks evolv case https://pcpartpicker.com/b/7fyXsY It wasn't as easy but it was easy. Try to get bracket from the cooler master site and it'll be easy

Samduli 1 point 6 months ago

like everything but what is that mouse cause really

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

I love my trackball!!! I've gotten so use to it I couldn't use anything else

Flameytail 1 Build 1 point 6 months ago

Why did you get a overclockable cpu with a b series MOBO. You could seriously OC with a liquid cooler

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Many reasons I guess. This build was... was my secondary build. Started with a g4560 and a 1060. Never meant for it to evolve. My other rig is a 6700k and a 1080 with nzxt x62 (not even oc'd) so I'm not into oc'ing more into cooling. I wanted the better cpu and the K version was $15 more so I went with that one. Oddly enough, I delided the 7700k too because of high temps even stock w/ 360mm rad. I know... Stupid!! But my 1080ti/7700k combo plays great for me

domeng9 1 point 4 months ago

hi there! i was planning on doing the same thing on my gpu but with a different case(inwin 101) and gpu mount(coolermaster universal mount) do you think it would work?

also, nice build! all the white lol

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

It looks like it would work just as easy. The right size and there looks to be no metal dividers in pci.

jmiller873@gmail.com 1 point 2 months ago

awesome build! i love the all white. im looking at doing one myself here in the next couple weeks. what keyboard is that? ive been trying to find a decent looking white one to pair with mine

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I purchased the keyboard from Amazon while back. It was like a blue finger brand or something. I'll look it up..... And Thank you

Checkout the upgraded build on this tho.... It is the Zombie Hunter 2 build in my builds.... The best one I've done. Watercooled

jmiller873@gmail.com 2 points 2 months ago

man you do awesome work, i love that most of your builds have a main theme and not just a color theme. beautiful work

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Thank you. I highly appreciate it tons. I take pride and love to create and build pcs. It is my passion !! I also have a youtube channel under the name customgtp with some good videos if you have the time ;)

Thank you for looking!!

jmiller873@gmail.com 1 point 2 months ago

i will for sure, let me know if you find that keyboard somewhere

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Says it's unavailable. Been awhile. Maybe ebay Bluefinger BlueFinger® USB Wired Cool Crack Blue Green Light Blue 3 Color Adjustable Illuminated Backlit Gaming Keyboard For Gaming White With BlueFinger Cust https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V4SIWOS?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

CobaltQuasar 0 points 11 months ago

this build is just stupid, you could have WAY better components with 900usd, why are you even watercooling a g4560? WITH A 360 RAD, this is just so wrong. stuff like this is why console users are always saying you need a 3k pc to play anything.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

I have a solid machine in my main room with a 1080gtx and i7 6700k, this is my bedroom pc that I don't require bigger parts. And when I game, not very often, it does fine for me. The 1060 is a good 1080p card and the dual hyperthread g4560 has been good for me. Benchmarks along side the 7400 if you look at my results. I bought a 7400 and decided to stick with my pentium.... Thank you

CobaltQuasar 0 points 11 months ago

the point is, spending 900usd on a g4560 + 1060 system is, stupid. but if you like wasting money like that... what can i do

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Thank you for concern about my money. My pc runs everything just fine 60fps on 1080p monitors. I have no issues with it. Good day.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

And to educate you. The g4560 is a dual 3.5ghz w/ 4 threads (just like an i3) and the 1060 gtx is one of the best 1080p cards. I am not In need of anything more.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

And the trolls seem to come in at the end.... See your new with only 2 comments and now build :/

Pulverizer17 -1 points 11 months ago

but that CPU though

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

It's my cpu and it plays fine for me though :)

BEEFJERKEY 1 Build -1 points 11 months ago

you spent $1400 and got a g4560 with a 1060 this is a good example of how to waist your money

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

I can always upgrade if I feel the need. I tried an i5 7400 and it performed a hair better than my g4560 so I don't need. If I wanna play a game that'd hard to run on my g4560 I'll go and use my other pc that has a 6700/1080gtx, Thank you

BEEFJERKEY 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

my proble is that you spent 1400 dollars and with that you could have gotten like an i5 paired with a 1080

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 3 points 11 months ago

Look, I understand you have a problem... I own an i7 6700 and a 1080 Hybrid Which I game on... This is a hobby for me & some too. I like to build. I am an enthusiast and it doesn't always mean 1080's and i5's

Not every computer requires a 1080 and i5. If you look at my prices, take away the dual external drives, the price of my mouse and keyboard, the fans I had to purchase for the case, the $55 bracket and riser cable, the $30 psu extension kit, etc it wasn't $1400 for just the build. I'll adjust my prices to make you happy honey!!

And maybe when we get married you can be more concerned with how I spend my money ;)

Have a good day sweetheart.

customgtp = savage. Thanks for this :)

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Your welcome for whatever helped... Nice clean build you have by the way!!

PC_Noob12345572725 -1 points 11 months ago

Guys pls help

CraigM6 -2 points 11 months ago

you just spend 1500 dollars and built a pc with a g4560

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Yes.. Yes I did. I seem to game just fine with this when I have to. But this is not my main build.

CraigM6 -2 points 11 months ago

i can game fine too with a 10 yr old cpu if i put everything on lowest settings.

Sam_Flynn 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

You underestimate that pentium... it's basically a i3 at half the price, and it can handle anything other processors can, maybe a little slower but it can.

customgtp submitter 18 Builds 3 points 11 months ago

Thanx Sam... IDK if people just are not educated enough on this chip. They see dual core and dismiss it. But you are 100% right. 3.5Ghz Dual core with 4 threads. And it runs most games 60fps on 1080p which I game with similar to the i3

and I don't "put everything on lowest settings."

Sam_Flynn 1 Build 2 points 11 months ago

Glad to help :)
