Description

My tiny corner of the internet that i use primarily for coding and media consumption.

PS: the image with all the parts was of the very first "version", I have since upgraded that B85 mobo to the Z97, added another 8GBs of RAM,and 2 more HDDs

I got it because its meant for 24/7 usage, not only do i game, edit, and code on this machine but its also my "media machine". I have very large (nearly 1TB) media library thats constantly being accessed by family and friends.

my guess would be because he was already going with a dedicated gpu, and not planning to oc, and the xeon has a cheaper price if u dont need overclocking or integrated graphics

it is definetly not better in terms of price/performance compared to an i7 or even an i5

I'm scratching my head too. Spending $55 to cool a locked CPU? It looks cool but rather see a i7 for that.

Nice build! Why the V300 if I might ask?

Cost primarily, and this is the one that was released before they did the old "bait an switch".

More pics would be cool. I also have the 300R and you did a better job with cable clutter. I have side case fans. However, I'd suggest adding a 140mm front fan. I know you have one already but a second, better, one would be nice. Check out Noctua's.
