CPU Clock Rate

3.8GHz

Description

Since my co-worker was planning to sell me his CPU + MOBO + CPU Cooler for 75$ I decided to pick it up since, my LGA 775 setup died on me.

I was going to go for an i3-6100 budget gaming build but, decided on this instead since, this was too good to pass up.

I my current cooler is the Kingwin XT-1264 but, it isn't listed here so I just put a CM Hyper 212 Evo instead.

I set the integrated graphics at 1024MB so that I can do some light League of Legends at Very Low settings. During Laning I get around 30-35 fps but, during clashes the frame rate really suffers.

I will plan to buy a dedicated graphics card when something comes up. The only demanding game I will play on this will be Overwatch when it comes out in the summer. By then, I would have enough to get the video card and maybe upgrade the ram.

I do want a red LED fan controller with an integrated card reader since, I often transfer pictures over CF Cards.

The Kingwin FPX-003 is perfect but, doesn't match the black and red theme I have going on.

For storage I have 2 Hitachi 1TB in RAID 0 for my MOBA Games and CS:GO and an old Crucial M4 as a boot drive.

For the case, the exact model is a Sharkoon VG5-W which isn't listed here. Its a very value budget case at $38 purchased in the Philippines. The only problem is that there isn't much clearance behind the motherboard mount for the 6pin CPU connector to go through. Instead, it has to be routed in front of the motherboard.

*Update 2/6/2016 Just got myself a video card to compete this build. An MSI GTX 950 2GB OC.

It was on sale on Newegg for 119.99 + 2.99 for shipping. Had to jump on it because, I want to game now and the deal was too good to pass up. I can always resell this before pascal comes out or just sell the whole rig and build a new one.

Part Reviews

CPU

Not the best value for money but, as mentioned in some guides. If you got it at ~$50 or less then you're good.

Motherboard

Great solid board for lean OC. Barebones and only SATA 2 really makes it outdated. Great that they updated the color scheme to black and grey.

Memory

Great thing about Crucial RAM is compatibility. Sometimes when you're in a pinch. Just drop these and they are sure to be detected.

Storage

Solid SSD. Stood the test of time.

Power Supply

Not the best layout for pre-wired cables. can do with one less PCI-E cable. most people who buy this will just run a single card anyways. But, for the price, you can do better. this is all that was available to me at the time.

Headphones

These are great headphones!!! Although, for long listening sessions I suggest you get the XL pads the stock pads hurt my ears after about 1-2hours of listening.

definitely a good deal! would be cool to add a pascal gpu in there when they come out!

exactly what i was thinking! but, i know the prices will be high. i might just settle for a maxwell card since, they are bound to go down in price when pascal comes out. might just scrap this and go for a skylake + pascal build.

you could but the 4350 should be fine with what you're gonna be doing! i made a pc for my mom with a fx4350 and r9 280x for around $462 and she loves it and maxes out everything she plays!

Wow. What a great mom. My mom only does facetime at 60fps. Lol. When prices start dropping after pascal thats when I'll grab one.

Thanks! When laptops with thunderbolt 3 start dropping in price I might just go that way with eGPU. In the meantime, I'll just stick with the PS4 for most of my gaming.

Yeah I know the PSU isn't the best. but, its what fit my budget at the time. also, i purchased this from Philippines and most of their PSU's are only 220v. this was the only one i found that would auto volt.
