Description

Hi guy this is my first ever pc build. I have only had laptops for the past 6 years so a full size pc was very new to me. I have been lurking here for about 6 months or so and today i finally can post my own build. yay! CPU

I only play games so an i5 6600k is plenty

CPU COOLER

I chose the Corsair H100i v2 because i want to overclock my cpu also for aesthetic reasons. However I still new to this whole PC thing( this is my first pc) so I dont really know how to use it correctly yet, like how to change the color on the pump and other things like the Corsair link thingy.

MOTHERBOARD

I chose the Asus Maximus Viii Formula because I want something that could last me at least 3~5 years that also looks nice and offers lots of features at the same time

MEMORY

Chose the Tridentz because the heat spreaders look very cool and its ram

STORAGE

250GB of SSD and 1TB HDD

GPU

This card I can describe as love on first sight XD... Took me 3 weeks of spaming F5 of newegg and i finally got it :D

CASE

For case i went with the H440

CASE FANS

Went with the Thermaltake fan i mean who wouldn't like more colors in their case :P

POWER SUPPLY

At first I was going to get a 650w but then i saw a 750w this was only 10 dollars then few days later i saw a 850w which was only 5 dollars more than the 750w so yeah lol

I kinda wanna go SLI with this particular 1080, but I'm not sure if I can fir another one just right below it, as parts of the card are kinda sticking downwards from my view. Could you help me check if that's possible by lining up a ruler perpendicular to the PCI-e slot below it?

I run 980 TI SLI on a Formula VIII in a H440 and the cards fit well

Hey I'm using your build for my computer. I'm really stuck on the cooler part of it. Is it possible for you to send me pictures of where you put the radiator for the corsair. As well as where everything is. Silly question, I know. This is my first build and I just want to make sure everything is ok.

Thanks

Hey quick question. The cpu cooler fans can you mount them away like have the radiator show and the fans be underneath the hood on this case or not?

Looks awesome man. But that red led is really 'bugging' me :p if I were you I'd probably just stick with a red theme. Good job though!

  • 2 points

A red theme wouldnt make sense when you spend so much to get stuff that changes colors. There are so many red themes because there are a lot of red builds, red is overused.

I was just saying that because of the debug led haha.

Nice build! Is there a huge difference from lets say i5 6600k vs the i7 6600k or i7 6700k?

only if you're streaming/video editing/something that will utilize hyper-threading

for gaming it's not really worse the extra price
