Description

Built this little guy for my mother after seeing her painfully slow laptop. Looking for something efficient and inexpensive; also I like working with parts I've never used before. It came together quite easy even for this small case. First time I've touched a Kabini processor and a Mini ITX board...very small.

I was actually wow'd by the performance. I think the AMD 5350 can be a tiny powerhouse when paired with an SSD and more RAM than is needed. The case was very tight but fit everything without a fight. This thing sips wattage and is super quiet even with using the stock cooler. I didn't bother putting in the MB speaker for the post beep so when I press the power button it sounds like the system is completely dead, yet it boots up like a champ.

This case is perfect for this processor and cooler but it'd be ultra tight if the cooler were any bigger.

I'd recommend a build like this for an HTPC or for anyone just want to cruise the web or play casual games. Moms likes it too but I think she's more in awe of the 24" monitor I gave her with it!

Great value. Recommended for an HTPC build or a casual everyday PC.

No worries. Erm... I did not realize they had a AMD 5370 coming soon for the Direct X12 until now: AM1 socket.
Anyways, I would definitely recommend it too for those who need a basic everyday PC or an HTPC when in a tight budget. I know I love mine and I intend push it a tad further this year. I would probably recommend a very minor overclock to 2.1GHz with 1GB of integrated or the default of 512MB is OK when paired with 8GB of RAM though can get away with 4GB too. Feels a little more smoother and responsive this way.

I got an Asus f85m board, a10 6800k and 8gig 1866 ram for 117$ off ebay or I was going to build this! I'll post pics and the build when I find a ps option close to free that won't burn her apartment down lol
