Description

Helped my friend from one of my computer science classes with this build, It was his first one :D Didn't get to many pictures of it as I assembled it during a class period and then I did an OC demo for the class just hit 4.2ghz stable took like 10 minutes xD This was my first time using MSI's new "Gaming" series board and I was very impressed with it, was very easy to set up and OC with. Also over clocked his ram from 1600 to 1850mhz just for fun and it was so simple just couple clicks! :D Very nice board indeed.

As always if you enjoy the builds I do, please visit my website as I have many examples of Custom PC's I've done as well as many water cooled builds. www.extremepcs.vpweb.com And please take a moment to check out my youtube at www.youtube.com/mrleagueoflegendsgp

The only part of the build I have a problem with is the Hard Drive

You can get a regular 1TB HDD for about $60 and a 120gb SSD for about $80-$90 which is a better option IMO than the VelociRaptor. Seeing as you also included the SSD in the build the Velociraptor really doesn't make sense here as the funds allocated there could have been put towards a better GPU

All in all though it's a nice build still a +1 from me

Hmm, since he was in a comp sci class maybe it is going to be used more for compiling and testing, or database development? I don't know... just saying that not everyone needs a better GPU.

Nice build - I've wanted to add water cooling to my own system to reduce the noise for a while... is it actually quieter?

The H100i is pretty quiet ya, makes a little noise here and there but I have headphones on so can't hear it anyways

Try to remember this is a customer build, what the customer wants he gets. I can only recommend things, and he wanted to try a VelociRaptor drive instead of just a regular drive.
