Description

With the coming if Ryzen, we felt AM3+ needed a good send off, and what better way to do it with a custom loop and a pre-production chassis for Halo-cc!

To see a build log of the computer, check out our youtube video at the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Wm_g1WQtqM&t=2s

The CPU I got for a smoking deal of $80, and each GPU was purchased for a mere $120 a piece. Note that I haven't edited the prices yet so what is listed does not reflect what I actually paid.

The Chassis was generously sent to us by Halo-cc after we saw their product at Dreamhack Austin 2016. Please check these guys out, message them and support them any way you can! We are working on getting them a go-fund-me account setup.

https://www.facebook.com/Halo-cc-537687656409319/

We felt an over-the-top custom loop was the only way to compliment this build.

Thanks for checkin us out!

uberlizard 1 Build 2 points 15 months ago

a 480 millimeter rad?

OH WAIT. Thats a 9590? Bruh, thats not safe.

Nuckles_56 3 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

You need 1440mm of rad space just for the CPU alone (12x120mm rad)

uberlizard 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

exactly. Maybe a little more to be safe.

rhali8 2 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

DeltaForceGM01 2 points 15 months ago

nice build....i would recommend putting a glass box around to prevent dust

someta 4 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

that would look awesome....

Daiphelion 2 points 15 months ago

I've been planning a mod very similar to that... That... What do you even call that? It's not a 'case' as it's not enclosed, it's not a chassis as it's not any sort of frame or frame work. Umm, 'utilitarian display stand'? Whatever it is, it's amazing to look at :D

+1, and excellent work on getting those bargains.

datwoo816 1 point 15 months ago

Would you call it a stand?

Daiphelion 1 point 15 months ago

Actually, yes.
That seems reasonable, right up until that awkward moment you realise that it could then be said that you 'erected your computer'. Anything to do with the internet anywhere should not be so directly linked to 'erecting'...

Pixal 1 point 15 months ago

Wow

That is an interesting case

Zarphos 1 point 15 months ago

Damn, those are some amazing prices.

Apach3 3 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

the loop is probably worth more than the rest of the system lol. all things considered, it's a fine sendoff indeed!

i like the testbed/chassis. are the lights RGB or static purple?

oneflygtiguy 5 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Chuck38 3 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

That is a really cool build. Love the case. If I had money I would consider looking into that case when/ if it's released.

I want that case...

ShutYourTrap 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Yes

BananaDealer 1 point 15 months ago

Interesting... Can't help but think the rad should've been flipped however, giving a clear view of the CPU and mobo (otherwise blocked by the tubes, as in the photos)...

tyler_hargus 1 point 15 months ago

What is the case that is used?

Radox-0 5 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Man, what a cool a unique case! Something very different. Great stuff! +1

XFacility 1 point 15 months ago

Now that's a fancy case xD +Rep

chickenman10121 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Great build, looks amazing but if it was hard tubing. Instant orgasm.

Mariomash 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Whered you get the cards for so cheap :/

skyrise 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Awesome build!

That motherboard is gonna bottleneck the CPU though. You should've gone full blown ASRock Extreme9.

What is the cooler's brand?

NinjaSloth322 1 point 15 months ago

How did you get all that stuff for so cheap.

Varan56 1 point 15 months ago

I don't know what to say other than enjoy your furnace.

LonghornAlamo2040 1 point 15 months ago

You brought many memories and hot drops of sweat to many people.

Hats off to ya (I have no idea what the formatting is)

Very unique case/test bench look.

Estilow213 1 point 15 months ago

Nice!!

khmergod 2 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

"Tired of having to vacuum your room? With the Halo-CC, all you need to do now is vacuum your test bench!" Cuz it's a dust magnet..get it? ya, nevermind, bad joke.

On a serious note, badass...bench? case? panel?

DasBassDropz 1 point 15 months ago

i dont know what this is

But i like it.

Vince_aviator 2 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Probably the coolest build I've seen

danownsu25 1 point 15 months ago

sexy but the gpu sag is concerning

skyrise 1 Build 1 point 8 months ago

G.R.E.A.T!

Only the mainboard is kinda underwhelming. You could have gotten the ASRock Extreme9 since it's the only one that fully supports the FX-9590 at 5GHz.

The cooling and case are insane though!

BreckRBLX 1 point 5 months ago

How to burn down your house(gone wrong)

lol, great send off

Pipe clamps as fittings and rubber tubes as tubing

There are some kinks that have to be worked out, but the product is truly fantastic. I really hope we can help get this company off the ground.

kinks

NinjaSloth322 1 point 15 months ago

what is this cased called i am about to build a pc and this looks super sick

TechTested submitter 7 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

unfortunately the case is not in production. The company (halo-cc) sent us a product review. They are trying to get these into mass production but have run into financial issues. If you know any way to help them please feel free to do so.

TORCHO8 2 points 15 months ago

They should do it like NCASE did with the M1.

NinjaSloth322 1 point 15 months ago

This is the coolest case I have ever seen the second I saw it I knew i must have it. Do they have a kick starter or anything I can support I need this for my build its amazing

IcepickXIII 1 point 15 months ago

I wonder if them starting a Kickstarter would help? I mean, I've seen weirder things get funded on there, I'm sure something cool like this could get some traction!
