This is my fifth custom PC build for myself since 2006 and by far my favorite and the most I've invested at any point. The build was about a 2 month planning process of researching and choosing the components.
I was really debating another build this soon coming from a 6600k and GTX 1070 that I built October of 2016. However my love of building computers along with wanting something new got the better of me.
I originally completed the build on October 20th 2018 being the day that I received my 9700k that I had pre-ordered from Amazon. To me the 9900k wasn't worth the additional $120+ when I am only using this computer for gaming and not really for any multitasking needs to require the extra threads.
I replaced the case from an Aigo Atlantis to this Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic and decided to post my build. Right now I'm hit with the RGB craze but if I ever get tired of it I can switch everything off or to one color.
I have the CPU, GPU and RAM overclocked without any temp or stability issues. 9700k is running a cool and stable 4.9ghz across all cores with 1.275 volts and maxing out at 60C while playing games. The RTX 2080 is clocked completely stable at +800 on memory and +90 on core through MSI Afterburner. Memory is clocked at 3200mhz. It runs everything I can throw at it in 1440p maxed with ease usually over 100 fps depending on game.
Next project is to redo the game room with a new bigger desk.
Purchased and installed another 16gb of RAM and uploaded some higher quality photos. Also purchased a Corsiar MM800 mouse mat to fully RGB all the things.
