Description

I had tons of fun making this. will be using this mostly for gaming. The rig maxes out every game ive thrown at it so far at 1080p getting over 60 fps. Overclocking the cpu at a 1.2 adaptive voltage and is 100% stable. the gpu overclock is also the highest ive seen online. and the 3d mark 11 *score is the highest for a 4670k + 760 config!

ps: i know my cable management needs work and I will be upgrading to an ssd soon!

total cost after tax and shipping was 995$ (I bought everything the same week haswell was released, except for the gpu)

3dmark 11 score (p): 9329

edit: just ran fire strike and scored a 6409. http://www.3dmark.com/fs/682821

Is it OC'd to 4.6 or 4.4. Here it says 4.6 but on the 3DMark website it says 4.4

Its 4.6, apparently 3dmark gets it wrong sometimes. I'll be posting more pics with screenies of my over clock later today!

how's that cooler treating you?

Pretty amazing. Idle temps dropped about 10 degrees and I haven't seen the CPU go over 70 in any games. Its usually between 45-60 while gaming and that's with a pretty big oc

You bought a turbine engine to cool your CPU. The T40 gets really loud under load.

Hmmm well I don't find it loud! The wind force GPU cooler is actually even louder. But again, they don't bother me.

Gotcha. Reviews show it good at cooling but it does so by spinning fast...and in turn....loud. If it doesn't bother you then good pick.

Wow, and that comes with a budget cooler.

Not bad, very good cpu/gpu combination.

Excellent choices. Any SSD in the future?

Yup! Don't know when exactly but that's going to be my first upgrade.

The True Spirit from Thermalright would have given way better performance for 10$ more IMO. Concerning the rest, good PSU, good board and good GPU / CPU, and therefore good parts / deals and picks overall. You could tidy the cable management a bit more but that's just me and my OCDs ;)

It seems to be mostly sold in Europe but these guys have it : http://www.hookbag.ca/product/H3C0CSZ02/ts-120m-thermalright. Where are you purchasing from ?

Not the buying link, sorry I didn't specify. I meant the benchmark link.

What was the temp goal you went for when you did your OC during full cpu burn? 85c max?

Ya I used Aida 64 and exactly 85 max. I had to change it from a 1.2v adaptive to a 1.2v manual because otherwise it would throttle. According to JJ over at Asus that's totally normal. Check out his asus z87 overview on new egg tv.

Yup sorry I meant 3dmark 11. And that's referencing a 770, I used a 760.
