This is my build built over a year ago, just as the 3570k came out.
It was built as a gaming build, but also for working on too. This was my first build at time of purchase but have subsequently built 5 other builds for friends.
Originally I ran with a Zalman z9 plus but wasn't happy with cooling performance and volume it emanated. I had also fancied a change in aesthetics and decided on switching to the phantom 410, as it also had a very nice fan controller I use, and was much roomier.
I ended up having less (data) space than I required so the additional hdd was bought at a later date. I am now running a raid0 setup for my 2 hdds.
The graphics card I am currently looking to replace actually, as it runs much hotter than I am happy with, and is quite loud when just idling. This led to the purchase of extra case fans to improve airflow. I also have a weird issue with it when using dual screens. (When YouTube is open on one screen, dragging windows around on the other has a very choppy frame rate - tried RMA with no avail). My proposed upgrade would be to the 770, or possibly the 870 depending on how long I wait, with an aftermarket cooler (not getting stock again!).
The psu was originally bought with the intention that some day I might want to SLI for a cheaper upgrade to a system when it is becoming outdated, hence the massive overkill.
Other parts that aren't included in the build are:
(All prices were costs at time of purchase)
Corsair k60 cherry red mechanical keyboard - £80
Corsair sp2500 2.1 speakers - £200 (Gift)
Corsair m60 Mouse - £45
Acer g245HQ lcd screen x2 - £90 each
Cheap logik 26" 1080p screen recycled from a few years ago - £200 originally
3tb WD external drive - £100 (Gift)
2x fractal silent series 140mm case fans - £20
fractal silent series 120mm case fan - £7
I'm a fan of corsair :D.
Also not all parts were built on initial building, some gradual purchases through the last year and a half.
I have no intentions on overclocking currently, but things could change as the system begins to slow down in the future (Not too soon though! :D)
It runs all the latest games on max settings and about 55fps avg+. (Including borderlands 2, fc3 and bf3)
Just uploading this now as I hadn't actually found the button to say you had completed a build (lol), and wanted some feedback before possibly upgrading the relevant parts. Any/all comments are welcome!
Edit: Updated pictures, rewired the case after some of the comments. I had needed to redo the cable management as it hadn't been properly redone since i first built it. Moving the CPU cable behind the mobo had required removing the mobo due to the case. Also some purchased some velcro for a ghetto ssd attachment. The picture makes it look a little flimsy, but is actually a lot more stable than it looks. GPU now runs a lot cooler at idle which im very pleased about too :).
