Description

My 2nd mini-itx build. My best effort to squeeze power in a small box with a limited budget :)

Build started with: CPU + stock HSF + Mobo + Memory + Hard Drive + VGA + PSU

Had to RMA my 7950 last November 2013 (after ~2 months of use) because of a fried VRM (PC refuses to turn on when inner PCI-E power is connected). Got the replacement within a week.

Recently added (January 2014): Corsair H60. CPU temps at full load (via prime95x64) down from ~78C to ~60C, idle temps down from ~45C to ~35C. The radiator fan currently acts as an intake (on my small case).

Most parts were actually bought when they were on sale :)

Sorry for the bad pics, I'm not much of a photographer. Blurry pictures courtesy of my shaky hands :))

Proof that great things do come in small packages! Excellent job, this has got to be a top contender in the power vs. size category. Would love to see a few internal shots.

What is the case and cost of the GPU?

HawkinsPCs 1 point 46 months ago

No clue on GPU, case is a Fractal Design Node 304.

I must have an eye for Fractal Design cases. I think that'd be a nice choice for building my friend a Steam Machine.

Newegg cost of that card is $299 but it's not in stock any longer.

I got the GPU for $199 ($209.99 - $10 coupon) in newegg.com a while back (aroud October 2013). Didn't have the time to do the $20 rebate though :(

As it appears in the invoice: VGA MSI|R7950-3GD5/OC BE R $209.99. Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127737

And yes, the case is a Fractal Node 304 case, also from newegg.com. $54.88 - $5.50 promotion code. :)

Cool case. That has got some pretty good components, not a bad price, and is stylish. Great build!

Wow I wish I could get a free GPU like that one, damn!

Oops sorry! I forgot to place the price for the GPU. It's $199 after coupons and price cuts by newegg :)

brelovix 1 point 46 months ago

Lol, that's a nice price man. GJ~

Nice build! Really like the size of that case.
