I built this system around a year ago with the intention of submitting a completed build memo at the time. However once I had actually completed the build I was shattered and preoccupied with my new creation so never got around to it.
Being new to Aus I had no PC gear to my name I had left most of my belongings behind in Europe. Starting from scratch with literally everything. Monitors, desk, chair, keyboard and Mouse where all planned within a budget which without discipline can easily get out of control. Happy with the results it is more than adequate to fulfil my needs for the next few years.
This was my first attempt at a PC build and at first what seemed like a daunting task in reflection wasn't too much trouble. My build took me a long time as I was reading the manual and watching YouTube for guides to ensure I didn't break anything. My biggest delay in progress was figuring out that on the H100i liquid cooler there are black caps covering the pins on the power cable. It literally took me hours of scratching my head trying to figure out how to connect the cooler to the motherboard lol!
I use this build predominantly for FPS games and the odd MMO, the two 144hz Monitors have been brilliant and the GTX 980 has reliably pushed the frames that I want.
My PC building passion reemerged recently and I will soon be building a HTPC for my living room. This will replace an oldschool laptop as which has served me well but is long overdue an upgrade.
