Description

Was my first time ever, did alot of research before I even tryed to do this. Tryed to look for a guide to fit the nzxt x60 in this case but found none. Only found a few pictures so I just went off that and did it. Yes the 280mm radiator fits in this case you just need to mod the plastic alittle. Overall it was fun and I love it! (I forgot to add my tx750 power supply got it for like 79.99!)

Nice build!

I personally love the Kraken X60. I also had to slightly mod my case (NZXT Phantom) to make it fit.

Totally worth it!

How has the performance of the x60 been? I'm looking to buy a Phantom 630 and throw a x60 up top.

It has been good. Currently my 3770k is delidded and running at 5.0ghz stable with this bad boy cooling it. Temps are very reasonable.

Currently it sits at 25c at idle. And only gets to 45-50ish under load, that is with the "Silent" preset in the Kraken Control.

I have had no problems with it so far.

I Like everything except the keyboard. It is a personal preference though. Razer quality is just... meh. Good cable management for a non modular psu!

I only went with razer because it would match my mouse but I have a steal series headset now xD

I personally never had a Razer keyboard, but I have have the Naga Molten Edition, and previously owned the Deathadder. I LOVE/D both of them, better actually than a G400 I had for a few weeks, then broke. All I know, is their mouse quality is pretty good. :)

You were very lucky, if you look at reviews of most razer products like 50% of them break very fast or have slight problems ( like double clicking of the mouse )

I guess it's the luck of the draw with Razer then :)

Its not that much ive had a deathadder from 2009 and it still works to this day. I had one of the first razer keyboards and it still works decently today.

Was the top heatsink to big for the radiator to fit up top?

  • 1 point

I dont know, If anything the fans would have to have been on the top side of the case. Then maybe it would of fit on top

  • 1 point

Ok, cuz im getting that case and the swiftech h220 and i have some people manage to fit it up there, but others have had to put the radiator in the front.

  • 1 point

The rad would fit up top, but without fans.. you could drill holes and shift it about an inch forward to clear the motherboard heat sinks, but then you'd have a gaping hole in the top

  • 1 point

How thick is the x60 with the fans installed. The h220 is 2.1inches or 53.7mm thick. I think the x60 is pretty big radiator and the fans on it are thick too.

Straight from NZXT site:
Radiator Dimensions 138.4 (W) x 312.5 (H) x 27.0 (D) mm
Fan Dimensions 140 (W) x 140 (H) x 25 (D) mm

So 52mm with just push or pull.. 77mm push and pull :)

It fits, BARELY. We should have a new build video out soon and there was literally 0mm clearance between the fans on the rad and the heatsink on the mobo.

As long as it fits im fine with that. I just love the looks of the r4 and H220

It is going to basically come down to your mobo and how large the heatsinks on the board are. Worst case scenario you mount it in the front.

your price list has the 4770K as $0. did you get it for free, by any chance?

either way, not bad for what you'd be doing. since my impression is a strong preference for gaming, you probably could've gotten away with a 4670K but getting the i7 for free... well, you never turn down free stuffs. :P
