So some parts were lying around the house, some I got used, and some I got for a steal.
Mind you, these were all picked for upgradability later.
To start, the processor was supposed to be a used Intel Celeron G1820, what came in the package was an i5-4690K. Was I going to complain? No.
I got the motherboard for cheap because it was used.
The RAM was only 4GB because its cheap and I'll upgrade it later.
All of the drives were sitting around the house.
The GPU I got used for $5.00 (I actually bought 2 of them but only used one in this build due to lack of PCI-E slots)
I got a larger watt PSU for growing room and because the video card is pretty power hungry.
Ubuntu is only until I buy Windows 10, it was free so why not?
The monitor was a steal at around $40.00 because it had some scratches on the bezel and stand and it was used. Other than that, it's in perfect condition.
Finally, the case was the one my brother picked out.
UPDATE: There's now 8GB of RAM, and my old GTX 960 STRIX in this build. He now has Windows 10, and a green fan in front with red in back (His choice) and I know the pictures are not updated.
