Congrats on your first build!

You could have gone with a much better graphics card for a less expensive build overall.

Honestly, if you have any money left, I would wait till the GTX 870 comes out in May (the 770 and 670 both came out in May 2013 and 2012) and then buy whichever one fits your budget.

Maxwell is releasing in Late Q4 due to low 20nm supplies.

thanks for the impute, the graphics care was a "gift" from my friend and i was more then happy to accept because (last time i checked) i graphics card like this one ran for about 300 or more. nevertheless i can always just get a titan in the future.

This build would have given much better performance for under $700 after adding in the cost of Windows:

You could add another RAM stick and swap the drive for a 1 TB GB HDD or a 120 SSD and still keep it in the mid $800's (build doesn't include fans).

yeah but that is not including things like a monitor and adapter and if i didn't need those kinds of things i think i could have built my tower for under 500 and if not definitely under 600

Uhhh... then add a monitor and it costs ~$850, still cheaper and better performing than your build and there's better budget builds than the one I posted...

You have a $100 video card in a build that costs over $900.

Excellent build for the price! May it serve you well. Could probably do a bit better on the cable management. Perhaps a description explaining the intended use and choices in parts would be nice. +1

thanks for the tip, cable management got really hard after we struggled with the power to motherboard cable and everything kinda got clogged at that one point. ill try to improve it one day when i build on the rig.

Tidy up the cables and add a description but congratulations on your first completed build!

Almost all cases have a hole near the top left corner of the motherboard for the CPU power connector. Just bringing that cord through that would help cable management. Solid build though! +1
