Description

Named after its many fans and blue colors, this rig was build for 3d rendering within a $1500 budget, though still preforms amazingly on games. At first the core kept overheating, but I discovered that the Gigabyte ga-z97x-udh3 cranks up the "Vcore" voltage. Press delete while booting up. I found the best temps/performance at 1.2 volts. Also note that Corsair link cannot be used in Ubuntu, the OS I am using, but the cooler still works like a charm. If you are rendering, I would definitely recommend getting a graphics card with 4GB video memory. I had to mount the fans for the cooler's radiator on top of the machine because the top of the motherboard was too big. t works great though. The back fan an the side fan are both outtake, the front fan is intake, and the top fans are intake. I love the look of the case, super cool. Good luck!

The amount of builds named "beast" is too damn high.

TheUMC submitter 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

I'll indulge my creativity and conjure up a unique name. It seems like many people have seen "The Beast" before.

Clashmonkey 1 point 32 months ago

Lol thats what i named my first build

Beastliness23 3 Builds 2 points 53 months ago

I'd recommend changing the name, as well as uploading steady pictures. It's not that hard to keep your hands still.

Meithen 2 Builds 4 points 53 months ago

I couldn't help but laugh at your username, the irony lol.

Beastliness23 3 Builds 1 point 53 months ago

I know, it's terrible. I made up the username a long time ago and stuck with it. Little did I know the hatred towards that word on this website. Oh well, nothing that I can really do about it now.

InfamousMEE 1 point 53 months ago

Love the name More powerful card perhaps?

nerdymosh 1 Build 5 points 53 months ago

I'm with him for the price that you spent on that you could have gotten a 290 still a nice build

Penguln 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

Could have got a 980...

nerdymosh 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

Such a small difference both would be good and the price is much cheaper

Penguln 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

I know personally I would get two 970 rather than a 980.

nerdymosh 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

Well the Performance difference between the two is low that of course running Two GPU's of that card would run better

dak000 2 Builds 1 point 53 months ago

next you can upgrade from the potato you used to take these pics.

pegotico 2 Builds 6 points 53 months ago

lol... I wish ppl stop naming their builds beast, the beast, blablabla. this must be beast number XXXXX here

chowsownsomepizza 1 Build 3 points 53 months ago

A banana?

TheUMC submitter 1 Build -1 points 53 months ago

I'll work on that.

xNightCaster 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

Nice Build! Change then name though... alot of people are going to complain about that...

franwasd 1 point 53 months ago

What do you have to say about that keyboard + mouse?

gigagoku12 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

I'm not the OP but I have to say, mechanical rulz

Membrane is ok but not the same. Get mechanical and you won't go back

TheUMC submitter 1 Build 1 point 46 months ago

I works amazingly well for the price. I think if I could go back, I would have gotten a slightly more sensitive mouse.

Eschaton 6 Builds 1 point 53 months ago

Well done; I guess all the downvoting must have been due to whatever name you had before? Oh well; I really like Neptune. One of my favorite parts of the suite of The Planets, too...

CaptainKoda 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

Yeah I like the new name!

parkerthepicker 1 point 53 months ago

What games do you plaY? also what FPS do you get them at? and hows overall performance?

TheUMC submitter 1 Build 1 point 46 months ago

Hey, sorry, I haven't been on this site in forever. I actually don't game much, I do VFX with blender and Maya. The computer works very well, and I have discovered that render times are generally faster on linux.

baabs 3 Builds 1 point 53 months ago

I have a 2gb 760 and it works great. No reason to go higher unless one of the new cards goes on sale. You could have gotten stronger ram for the same price (2400mhz gskill), but your ram should work fine, Nice build!

TheUMC submitter 1 Build 1 point 46 months ago

Thanks!

xdenttim 1 Build 1 point 53 months ago

just one question why the Gigabyte mobo and not the MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 still a good build m8 +1

mull3r 1 point 42 months ago

can you post more pics of the interior , love the way you used the case. to max out performance

xlard 1 point 35 months ago

why your fans are out of the case ?

TomatoeThePotato 1 point 23 months ago

This was a long time ago but did you need a fan splitter?

TomatoeThePotato 1 point 23 months ago

Are the fans that came with the case, 3 pins or 4 pins? I am also going with a very similiar build

creepyskull10 1 point 3 months ago

Actually this is horrible for gaming, unless your playing roblox or minecraft, or games from 2008 this can't run modern games. Due to the gt 760 I would suggest upgrading to the 1050 or 1030, if u r on a budget otherwise get the 1050ti or the 1060.

Yeah, this is my first build. Not bad for a middle school-er though, huh?

TheUMC submitter 1 Build 1 point 46 months ago

I felt like I should reply to this..... I don't really know how...
