Built this about three years ago with upgrades like the memory and card later. The asus r9 390 is such a pain. Had the dual R7870s but replaced them with the r9 390, mistake.
Speccy! PLUS 1 for Speccy!
What was so bad with the asus R9 390?
I bought an XFX 390 due to it's low price.
The xfx might be alright, lately theyve turned their sorry game around. Mine (asus) has been nothing but trouble.
My first card came dead on arrival haha, getting a replacement at the moment. Makes me want to get a 750 ti instead due to the stress of it being DOA xD
What's the deal with your asus 390? I have the asus strix 380 and haven't had any issues.
Why was the 390 a mistake?
Yes, I would like to know the same thing, because a single 390 is running twice the VRAM you have put in, and most likely able to play games at higher FPS and higher settings than the other cards. I personally have a singled XFX R9 390 on my build.
I have an asus card that I have to use the MSI afterburner software. Triple fan cards are bad juju but it gets even worse when you have to go to the competitor to get it to work properly on the software side.
I think R9 390 is better than a 7870 crossfire, and more stable... isn't it?
My old xfx 7870s werent bad but I wanted something better. Thus far Im not impressed by the r9 390.
Like LeMMingSlayeR said, it's more stable. :-)
Good architecture, bad software. I got burnt by xfx back in the day but the 7870s I had were great. Too bad bridged card have become a colossal waste of money.
i have a xfx r9 390 and i love it!
