Description

My step-dad gave me £450 and said "buy me a bunch of pc parts, I'd like to build my own computer like you have" and so I did.

I'm no PC enthusiast and know very little on what parts are better or worse than others, but in my eyes what I've bought for him (for what he is going to use the PC for) has been a good choice.

So, I've left him with everything and lo and behold the photo's shown are his (semi) finished PC.

He said he already had a CD-ROM, however I should have looked at it to see weather it was IDE or SATA connection. Obviously was IDE so ordered him a SATA>IDE adapter.

Pretty chuffed with himself as its his first build, and I'm proud to say he's done a good job. Now just to wait for this IDE adapter and see if it powers up _^

Solid part choices. I'm assuming he'll be using this PC for at least some light gaming? Otherwise, there was really no point in buying the GPU; the pentium's integrated graphics are plenty to power web browsing, etc.

Very nice build for the price! Love that case, wish I could have afforded it when I built my pc.

Hopefully his dad doesn't see this

Solid build, you may want to add a fan to the rear of the case, to improve airflow if he ever wants to overclock, otherwise you could've done without the aftermarket cooler. +1

Looks great for a small system like that! Though, the Video card is completely unneeded for non gaming stuff. However, since there is no price on the video card I'm assuming you had it just laying around. So putting it in his PC seems logical.

Wont the 1gb frame buffer make sure his youtube or other video needs are met for a long time...

at 1080P or 1440P you don't even need .5GB.

I'm loving how clean this build is. +1 for best cable management I've seen today. Nice bang for buck on the part list as well.
