Description

Me and my son put this system together, mostly from spare parts I had in my inventory. Most were purchased in 2009. We originally assembled this build about a year ago, but the GPU was a Christmas present, and we recently moved everything to a different case. I handled the disassemble, but I let him put everything back together in the new case.

He plays mostly minecraft, but will occasionally jump on free weekend games on steam. I setup a MC server on a VM on my server in the basement so a couple of his friends can play. It can also watch live cable TV via our HD Homerun Prime and windows media center.

The silver knob on the front is actualy a 1 channel fan controller for the 80mm fan up front. It's really old, but it works good.

The build itself went really smooth. The HDD's are in RAID0 so the disk speed is actually not that bad. He really needs more space though for all of the episodes of Transformers Prime and Ninjago.

Also, the monitor listed is due to arrive today, so it's not the same as the one pictured.

Nice Build. I always enjoy when parents teach their kids something new, especially about computers

Good luck getting your son out of the basement...and summer vacation is here!

Not too shabby. Kids should love it.

This is so awesome! Cable management is really clean and it looks like your son is having lots of fun with mine craft. A fun free game to play is war thunder, it is a fighter pilot beta that runs on most machines.

The wifi adapter costs more than all of the rest of the parts combined. Why?
