Description

This is the first time ive built a PC. Ive owned a few pre built PC's over the years. My first PC was Pentium MMX 166 MHz which cost my about £1300 about 20 years ago. I decided to build my own PC just to see if I could. I watched 2 or 3 youtube videos before hand and all looked ok. I thought that white and red would be a good mix for the build. I, like many people, spent a LOT of time on here looking at different parts and costs. I wanted to try and keep things to a sensible budget but try to get good components.

The Build itself was mostly straight forward. I even managed to do the front panel connection fine. The only issue I had was with the SSD and hard drive they would not work. It took me about 15 mins to find out why. I had forgotten to plug them into the psu ( I know school boy error ). Everything was fine. It took me about 90 mins to build and about 1 day to get windows and all the drivers sorted out. Overall it was an easier experience than I thought it would be, I would say to anyone not sure about building their own PC to do it, its not that hard but will be very satisfying when you hit the power button and it powers on. I managed a small overclock on the Ryzen 5 1600 to 3.7Ghz unfortunately anything more and the system became unstable, I did not want to change voltage ect. Im happy with the performance anyway.

Great build, but why did you choose 1600 instead of 2600?

Hi there. I went for the Ryzen 5 1600 purely for cost. I will probably upgrade to 3600 in a year or so. Iv got a slight over clock to 3.7 ghz and im gaming at 1080P and sometimes at 1440P with the GTX 1060 6GB, The GPU will probably get upgraded to RX 5700 in the new year.
