Description

Built this for another guy at work who needed an internet/ MS office machine, and wanted it under $750.

This is my second build in the Air 240 and much easier this time, especially with the cable management. Not much to say about this build. Hear good things about the CPU and for $50 you cant really beat that. I know the PSU isnt the greatest, but should be plenty for this budget build. Cant seem to get the memory to run at its XMP profile. I'll have to try and set the timings manually.

All in all, its a simple build, and pretty damn quick with the solid state.

It seems a shame to use that chip without overclocking it when a 40% overclock is so easily achieved in most cases. Otherwise I might have paid a bit extra for an i3 with hyperthreading.

The RAM will only run at 1333MHz due to limitations on the CPU so little to no benefit tinkering with that IMO. Might be that the board is H97 and not made for overclocking that you cannot force it to run its advertised speed but I am guessing.

Looks like a nice build though, cool case almost bought one myself.

I haven't tried it yet but it looks like this board will overclock, all of the settings are there. I thought it was a bit weird for an H board. Just concerned about overclocking with the stock cooler. I wanted to try it after I get the OS fully loaded and updated. Lots of good settings on this board, we'll see how it does.

You spent WAY too much on that build.
