Description

Well this was my first PC build EVER! It definitely had its ups and downs as I went for a custom water loop and chose this specific case to do it in. I ultimately decided to go with flexible tubing because I didn't want to have added stress of making nice bends. I drew inspiration with the double radiators from another post on this site his username is nmt12. I will have all of the water cooling components listed below. P.S. THE WIFE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH HOW MUCH THIS THING COSTS! I AM ALSO NOT HAPPY BECAUSE OF AN ANNOYING ISSUE I HAVE BEEN GETTING WHILE PLAYING GAMES.

I decided not to upgrade my GPU from a 1070 to a 1080 or 1080ti because I had this GPU from my old rig. On top of that I have a 144hz 1080p monitor. So I didn't really want to upgrade because I do not have a 4k monitor. Plus it is a little overkill for games like Fortnite or Darwin Project.

I have no even began to try and reach max overclocking on this rig because of the dgxi error removed/hung issue. Which I have done everything in attempt to resolve. I'm currently reconfiguring the Waterloop and throwing in a small form factor 1060 to see if it is a hardware problem.

Regardless of the annoying issue I am glad on how it turned out. It defintely took some long days as the initial motherboard I had ordered (ASUS ROG STRIX Z370) would not POST. Then the CPU waterblock backplate from EKWB wasn't even THREADED. So I had to wait on a new backplate. I did not have the tools to thread it myself. I also realized after placing everything in that the 24-pin ATX stock connector that came with the SF600 was too short and would not reach the MB. So I had to buy an extender. I also had to buy the Corsair Commander Pro to have my Corsair ML 120mm fans hooked up and be able to control fan speed/rgb. The cable management was not too bad in this case you just have to really strap down all the cables pretty tight with the built in velcro straps to allow the sides to slide down properly.

Watercooling parts are as folows below:

EK-CoolStream SE 240 (Slim Dual) 1 EK-CoolStream SE 120 (Slim Single) 1 EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 RGB PWM (incl. sl. pump) 1 EK-Supremacy EVO - Nickel 1 EK-FC1080 GTX TF6 – Nickel 1 EK-DuraClear 11,1/15,9mm 3M RETAIL 1 EK-ACF Fitting 12/16mm - Elox Black 10 EK-CryoFuel Acid Green Premix 900 mL 2 EK-AF T-Splitter 3F G1/4 - Black 1 EK-AF Ball Valve (10mm) G1/4 - Black 1 EK-CSQ Plug G1/4 - Black 3 EK-AF Extender Rotary M-M G1/4 - Black 1 EK-AF Extender 6mm M-M G1/4 - Black 1 EK-DuraClear 11,1/15,9mm 3M RETAIL 2

Looks great, sometimes it's better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission... hope the issue is resolved soon!

It may be hardware related, the pcie riser the evolv shift is shipped with is known to be faulty, I know because I had the same issue. Go into your bios and change the pcie from 3.0 to 2.0 if this solves the issue you need a new riser. Let us know how you go.

I will try this out. Thank you!

Aaronlb56 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Game crashed with same error lol. I am at a loss to figure out what the issue is.

ApocPony 4 Builds 1 point 7 days ago

We'll at least your riser is functioning, update bios on your board?

Aaronlb56 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Yeah that's fine. I'm going to try to buy a small form gpu so I can place it in the rig without having to undo the Waterloop and test.

ApocPony 4 Builds 1 point 7 days ago

Ok good luck with it,

DaMysteryMan 1 Build 2 points 7 days ago

I smell something... could it be... featured?

Aaronlb56 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

That would be awesome!

DaMysteryMan 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Could you add more pics? Then I could easily see it happening.

Aaronlb56 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

On the error itself? It's just a pop up.

DaMysteryMan 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

No, of the awesome UV build!

Aaronlb56 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

I can add more pics later today. I unfortunately don't have pics during build process.

ThatAFKNoob 1 point 6 days ago

Sexier than I am!

Eagle355 1 point 6 days ago

Forgive me if you said in the description and I didn't see it... But what was the problem?

Beautiful build, love the UV effect! +1

Aaronlb56 submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 days ago

I did have the problem listed. It was the dgxi error removed/hung. Basically crashes my games because windows loses the graphics drivers for like 1-3 seconds then re-establishes them. I've searched online for the issue for months and have basically tried everything that people have recommended. I just bought a small form factor 1060 to see if there is some sort of issue with my 1070. I am actually reconfiguring the loop and installing it right now to test

Aaronlb56 submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 days ago

But I took the issue description off.

bman098 1 point 1 day ago

Why wouldnt the Strix board go in?

Darzz -3 points 8 days ago

If I was you, I would have gone for a GeForce GTX 1080 or GeForce GTX 1080TI.

Other then that, good job! Like the look of it.

yellowbear 4 points 8 days ago

a 1070 is still great.

Lobsterareawesome 7 Builds 1 point 8 days ago

Those are ****** expensive rn..

SirHalpin 1 Build 2 points 8 days ago

actually I've been seeing them at msrp sometimes! newegg deals have them pretty low, and ebay prices are plummeting for certain cards

Apielo 2 points 8 days ago

Nvidia lets you buy them for MSRP on their website just gotta wait until they come into stock and snatch one.

yellowbear 0 points 8 days ago

Apielo, but the founders edition cards suck.

Apielo 1 point 5 days ago

Not saying they don't but its better than paying double the price for not double the performance so you might as well get one.

Aaronlb56 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Thank you! I didn't go for a 1080 or 1080ti because I already had a 1070 from my old pc. Couldn't bring myself to upgrade the gpu at today's prices.
