Description

This is my ATX mid tower build I finished last week and I'm so stoked of how it turned out and how smoothly the build went given as this was my first PC build. I use this PC for gaming and light productivity.

The colour scheme for my set up is blue.

CPU & Cooler I feel this amazing chip will treat me well on my gaming journey and live up to its reviews. I have paired it with the Cooler Master liquid cooler (AIO) as my ambient temperatures can get high plus I couldn't resist the good price.

Motherboard ASRock B360 Pro4, easy to use and aesthetic for what it is, reason I didn't go for a mini is because I just wanted to fill my case. Shame it has no RGB headers.

Memory Expensive but it works, also the RGB lights up well and is easy to customise.

Storage Felt like I needed a SSD, this one is cheap and fast. And for my games I've got the extra 1TB which also works great.

Case I was going to get the S340 Elite in Black/Blue but this colour was hard to get due to low stocks so I opted for this. It's a very clean case everything was easy to put in the removable radiator mount helps a lot. Some neatness is required with the cable management as there is little room out back.

Power Supply Didn't want to skimp out on this. Works a charm and is very silent.

GPU I feel that this is balanced with my CPU. I'm very happy with the frames I'm getting on high settings.

Others Cooler Master's fans look gorgeous. I had to connect all my RGBs to the CM LED controller as mentioned the mobo doesn't have any rgb headers. Keyboard and mouse are awesome, headset is being shipped.

Any questions let me know :))

Nice build! And that Black/Blue color scheme is definitely a breath of fresh air compared to the boatload of Red/Black builds.

Thanks so much dude appreciate the kind words! I've got extensions and went with the CableMod brand, I wish I got all custom due to the space in my case but I made do.

Nice Title. You're right about the color. My 97 Wrangler has the same color. True Lapis was an expensive choice back in the day thats for sure. Ahhh civilization...

Anyway, nice PC.

I have a question about the cables. Did you order a kit, or did you pick that pattern?

Thanks.

Thank you! Yes I ordered a extension kit pre made, It was a convenience they had this colour pattern.

Nice and clean build and love the blue.

I would be very hesitant to spend more than $30 on a cooler for a locked intel cpu. Though if you have it in warmer than normal ambient temps then AIOs are just better of getting the heat off the cpu and into your room. Though you got a locked cpu that isn't a crazy TDP so it won't be generating a ton of heat and the video card also just sips power compared to some other ones on the market today. cough oc 1080 ti cough

With the hardware in your PC I am sure you should be able to play any current PC game at high/ultra settings at 1080p or get into 1440p gaming just fine.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the temperatures can get very hot where I am but I do understand where you're coming from. Yeah I didn't take to account of the power draw for this build will do in the future haha.

The gaming is great, I'm happy with it.

Does the i5 8400 perform properly with the b360 motherboard, I've seen people say that it dramatically under performs with one. Other than that nice build.

  • 1 point

Thanks, it performs properly for me no issues at all. Can't overclock with this chip so the B360 is perfect for it.

Great build! I was wondering where the tow cooler master fans went? I'm thinking of using the H500 and don't know where I would put case fans from looking at pictures. All of the pictures I've seen have fans pre-installed in the case.

Thanks potatox, sorry for the late reply. If it still helps i've put the two cooler master fans on the back and top of the case configured to pull air out.

  • 1 point

Hey bro i am building a near identical system but i couldnt help but notice you aio cpu cooler in the front, as i am building this i am wondering how come you put your radiator first and then the fans and if it would make any difference to the performance if you put the fans first then the radiator? Wouldnt it act as an exhaust? Thanks -Preston Bryant
