Description

It's a gaming machine. The R9 290 is a beast, but it's very loud. I won most of the components from the Anandtech Giveway #2. The keyboard, mouse, monitor, Crucial SSD, and Seagate HDD are all from my previous computer. I have smaller hands, so I really like the Anywhere MX mouse.

It does well in Battlefield 4.

I thought I recognized the name and wondered where from. Magic refference? lol Rise of the Eldrazi right? haha. And congrats on that giveaway win.

Yep! My favorite card. But also a gyre is something that spins, spirals. The R9 290 spins quite loud!

Is that an aftermarket cooler on your 290? that didn't take care of the noise issues?

It's the stock cooler, reference design.

If you want to get the most out of that card, I would suggest looking into an aftermarket cooling solution like the AC Accelero Xtreme III or the NZXT G-10. They're not cheap, but you'll definitely see a marked performance increase.

290 is worth it, if your computer is in a soundproofed case that still allows it too cool the poorly designed and blazing hot 290. Honestly can't believe they'd release something that could cause a fire out of the box. Other than the card its a nice build, from what I can see anyways

its nothing like that actually, the r9 290 and 290x are designed too run hotter as it allows them to reach their full potential, allthough i agree that AMD really should have developed a better cooling solution for them they are not poorly designed and are actually not that hot when compared to some older cards.

If it was meant to run that hot it wouldn't throttle due to overheating.

Well it's not like you can say I'm wrong. Cranked one up to 100% and I laughed at my friend, he didn't hear me.

Its not poorly designed it's supposed to run like that but they can improve the cooling
