NOTE BEFORE YOU MAKE COMMENTS: This is an update to my current system, this build was started almost a year and a half ago, so the parts and prices were current for the time. i.e. the GTX 600 series was still relevant, and Haswell was not out yet, and ram prices hadnt shot up yet. Pls keep this in mind.

Changes made since last update:

  • Added Live Gamer HD Capture Card

  • New headset(Previous was Turtle Beach X32)

  • Changed to Windows 8.1 Pro(Previous was Win7 Ultimate)

  • New Case (Previous was Cooler Master HAF XM)

  • Removed DVD Drive (Never used it)

So the Major update was the new case, the 450D. Reason I changed to this case was because i got tired of the "Industrial" look from the HAF XM, and wanted a more simplistic case. My friend has a 350D and i love that case, but wanted a Mid-Tower version, and when the 450D came out i creamed my pants XD So when Newegg was running a sale, i jumped on it immediately.

Updates for future:

  • Second AOC E2425SWD Monitor

  • 24" 1080p tv

  • Dual Monitor Mount for the 2 monitors

  • Single Monitor Mount for the tv (reason i dont get a tripple mount is because my mic stand is in the way, and plus, i mostly only use 2 screens at a time unless im streaming.)

  • Upgrade CPU and MOBO to the current line.

  • larger size of mechanical drives for mass storage

  • second Adata 128gb ssd to put in raid 0 with current one.(or maybe just get a larger ssd, idk, thoughts are still in the air)

[Note, the updates probably are not gonna happen for a while due to lack of money....and bills....Being an adult sucks XD

Reason for getting a new tv instead of a monitor is so i can play all my game consoles with out any problems(Playstation 2 does not work on my AOC monitor due to resolution incapability), also i want tripple 24" screens with all the same resolution. Need some consistency.

Like i said before, this was not a major update, but just enough for me to justify posting it. (Plus, i took some pretty pictures:P )

Side Note:

I don't really play a whole ton of games. I mainly use this to stream, video/photo edit etc. And I like my system too look awesome, so im willing to spend extra money on aesthetics :P

Very, very good cable management. One of the best managed in this case I have seen so far. Very good pictures too! +1

My build is very similar to yours and I just got a new case to replace my Cooler Master case as well. I went with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro. The 450D was in the top 3 choices though. I eliminated it mostly because I hate my PSU and the Enthoo has a PSU shroud.

And yes, being an adult does indeed suck sometimes. :) +1

I looked at your build and I liked it.

Also thank you for the support :) +1 both your builds :)

Awesome cable management and pictures. I'm curious to see what's behind that back panel. In my opinion, you should consider a graphics card upgrade sooner or later since Nvidia is launching 9xx (not 8xx) graphics cards later this year. Overall this is a great build. +1

yea......i dont want anyone to see behind the back panel....hell. i dont even want to look at it OpieOP

Do you have the hard drive in your external drive slot? And how is the case, I was thinking of getting it if it goes on sale :)

BranToast75 submitter 4 Builds 1 point 54 months ago

Yea, the hdd is in the 5.25" bay. I just used 2 strips of heavy duty velcro, and it doesn't budge a bit. Its a nice place to put a hard drive so you can remove the cages for better airflow :)

+1 nice, love your cable management, my only complaint would be mixing 4gig and 8 gig dimms which isn't recommended

BranToast75 submitter 4 Builds 2 points 54 months ago

yea, at the time of purchasing the 8gig dimms, i started running a minecraft server that needed more ram than the 8 gigs i already had(the blue set) so i ended up buying 16gigs for it. (the black set). I then built a server computer in late 2013 and moved the 16 gigs over to that comp. Then minecraft started dying down, so i moved the set to my main rig. Then 2 months ago, my sister needed a new computer, so i gave her my server computer and took 1 stick of 8 and put it in that machine. Soooo long story short, yea i know its not ideal to for 1. have different sets of ram, and 2, have a stick of ram in a channel with out another stick to go with it. But honnestly, my performace numbers have not changed...so lol what ever XD

(geez that was a complicated reply)

Very nice and clean build BTW do your logitech G430 go out in one ear until you hit the volume controller???

BranToast75 submitter 4 Builds 1 point 54 months ago

No, I have had it for almost 3 months now, and absolutely no problem. I think yours is defective. Return ASAP

Eggman772 1 point 54 months ago

lol a little two late for that i've had mine since christmas

BranToast75 submitter 4 Builds 1 point 54 months ago

Eggman772 1 point 53 months ago

I first came across your PC build through another build by someone else and you posted a link to a Save My Rig episode. I heard you keep talking about your PC but I wanted to see what it looked like. I built my PC about 2 years ago and it is progressing quite nicely! I was glad to see your build is clean and looks awesome! +1 (can you please not put my build in an episode of Save My Rig until I've finished upgrading it at the end of this year...sorry if that is a very long time to wait!!!)

Why waste money of non essentials when you get a new GPU?. To me that seems to the essential purchase here.

BranToast75 submitter 4 Builds 4 points 54 months ago

what do you mean by non essentials? I mostly just updated the case?
