Description

This is the first completed build I've put on this site. I want to tell you right now, that I built this computer around December, so, please don't go on about pascal. I will most likely upgrade in the future.

CPU - I wanted a fast CPU that could do video editing and rendering along with some gaming. I also wanted to overclock it so I could get more performance out of it. This is a REALLY good CPU and I easily overclocked it to 4.3GHz. Would recommend 10/10.

Motherboard - I wanted it to look good, while still being able to handle an overclocked CPU. I chose this one because I wasn't fairly expensive, looked good, and had the z170 chipset. What more is there to say. 10/10.

CPU Cooler - I wanted a liquid cooler to keep my temps low under load with an overclock, plus it didn't take up as much space as an air cooler. The only thing I was a bit worried about was it leaking, but I went for it anyway. I do have to admit though, that the be quiet! dark rock pro 3 is really nice. 10/10

RAM - I mainly went with this ram for aesthetics, plus they weren't very expensive considering that they are DDR4-2400. I got 4 because I wanted to fill all of the dim slots to make it look nice. The z170 platform only lets you go up to 2133mhz, but still supports 2400mhz. Just had to change the XMP profile. 10/10

Storage - I got an SSD for my boot drive so it would boot really fast and then another 1TB HDD for all my big applications and file sizes. The rest I put on my SSD. My boot times are like 5 seconds, no joke. 10/10

Graphics Card - I'm not really one of those guys who needs the highest settings on every game at 4k at 60fps. I only have a 1080p monitor, so, I figured I could play near max settings at 1080p 60fps. I may upgrade in the future to pascal if I get a 2k monitor. 10/10

Case - I really build this system around this case. I really wanted this case because it looked so clean and beautiful. Plus, it helps a lot with cable management and comes with zip ties. It also gave me a lot of room to build in. 10/10

PSU - I wanted a fully modular power supply so I didn't end up with tons of extra cables. Plus, I wanted a higher watt limit in case I upgrade in the future.

Fans - I really bought these to fill up all of the left over fan slots for aesthetics. I have to admit that it keeps the air in my room circling XD. They aren't that loud either.
