Description

I just turned 12 and being gaming on an old Dell computer for around 4 years. I had saved up $1000 and decided to get myself a little gift and build my own computer. This was technically my first computer build, I used to disassemble and re-assemble my old computer. This computer has the X4 760k overclocked to 4.5GHz and running 72c max after 15 hours of Prime95 Small FFT burn test. It runs games like Battlefield 4 really well, I average 65 fps in most of the maps. The GPU is overclocked to 1150MHz with a 1357MHz boost clock, and runs at 67c in FurMark Extreme. I painted the shroud of the GPU to suit my build a little better, turned out pretty great. Tell what you guys think, GIMMIE SUM FEEEEEDBACK!

It would've been cheaper to get 2x4GB RAM sticks

Pretty much the same price but he still should have went for 2x4GB. Allows for upgradability and dual-channel is pretty gud.

Yeah the reason I didn't go for 2x4GB is because I bought my parts at different times. Like the first thing I bought was the case, then 8 months later I finished the build by buying the GTX 760.

Great job on the paint! Did do anything complicated or just spray?

I've used vinyl dye before and it works amazingly. Check out my build called Alpha for pics.

The only thing I would do is go with he amd fx 6300. But other than that super solid build man!

I didn't go with the FX series cuz they're kinda messy in terms of performance, and I will be upgrading to an i5 4690k in the future.

Eh, clever use of paint! I like it very much. The ACX GTX 760 is a disappointment compared to the GTX 660/770/780/780 Ti ACX cards; maybe it's the plastic shroud on the sides or the fin stack but it just looks less appealing. Bravo, you've certainly turned that around.

haha thanks for the feedback and yeah I do agree with the normal ACX GTX 760 is disappointing comapred to the 660,770,780 and 780ti cards made with the ACX cooler.

You should never really buy PC components very a large gap of time in between unless there is a huge sale. You can also just sell 2 of the 2GB sticks and buy 2 4GB sticks if needed. 12GB is really close to 16GB when video rendering.

Yeah I know, the thing is that money was a problem. As been a 13 year old at the time I didn't have enough money to buy components together. Anyways thank you for your feedback.

I like the theme of your build and being original to building. Don't see a whole lot of spray painting builds and have never heard of someone spray painting a gtx 7xx card to have the same color of gtx 6xx cards.

Haha yeah I got the idea of some guy that did the same thing to his GTX 760s on TomHardware forum. Thank you for your feedback I really appreciate it :D

Great build man only thing I would have changed was the 1tb HDD. I have a 2tb HDD and I'm actually filling up my first 900gb on it. Yeah I'm kind hooked on stream sales. The crazy bundles get me every time. But other then that I would say you should have waited and got 1X8gb ram they tend to go on sale more and more frequently but still it's a great build. I hope you have fun with this rig
