Description

I built this for my aunt because she wanted/needed a pc that was fast, could do her work/play games and run for several of years without any major upgrades along the way. She brought me her original pc which was a mid 2002 dell and told me she needed it to be faster which led to this build not 5 minutes after I opened that thing. The only thing she wanted was to keep it around $300 and I think I did pretty good on that part.

This is really great. Very impressive. And if your aunt needs upgrading anytime soon you can add a dedicated gpu

She doesn't really need one, the games she plays are mostly puzzle and card games.

How is the board running for you? I am going to use that same board in my build. (Motherboard)

I haven't spent a lot of time on it, but the only issue I had was that none of the usb's worked after I installed the OS until I installed the drivers, so I had to use a mouse and keyboard with the ps/2 inputs after it booted past the bios screen. Other than that it's a pretty decent board. On another note, I timed the boot from pushing the power button to when it reached the desktop, and it came in around 13-15 seconds.

Just for future reference, building on top of the anti-static bag can have negative consequences (It's anti-static because the outside is conductive and the inside isn't!), so maybe next time build on top of the box. Good to see it worked out though :)
