Description

This is just a minor upgrade form my previous build: http://pcpartpicker.com/b/y68KHx

I started the build in Dec 2013 and have slowly been upgrading it. I added another Gtx 780 and upgraded the power supply, many a people were giving me guff over the the psu. I also added 2 additional monitors for surround gaming. let me know what you guys think. Sorry for the quality of the last 3 pics i was trying to show the lighting effects and the set up.

so the windforce and the stock 780 can run in sli?

  • 3 points

Yes. It usually runs by the lowest gpu clock speeds, but I have them both overclocked to the same speeds. I got the windforce gpu off ebay for really cheap @ the time. i wish i could get identical cards the looks kind of bother me.

All around its just a great build, but did you actually for a $600 gtx 780?

  • 1 point

Nah!!! it was more like 300$ for the wind force 780 right before the 970's were announced and 500$ for the stock original..

all 780s can run together in sli

and in crossfire a card of the same generation works I believe

The real question is whether this kills the equivalent of five PS4s when you run five heads off it in multiuser mode :^ )`

The sad thing is I actually ended up buying a PS4 as well.

Hows the mobo?

  • 2 points

I love it. It looks amazing. it has Gigabytes app center that comes with useful apps that let me easily oc the cpu or do other cool things. My friends thought it was overkill because they didn't think I'd ever use SLI or Crossfire. I'm glad I proved them wrong.

Awesome m8 So what about the bios? Did it boot or did u have to update it? for your i5 to boot that is

  • 1 point

I don't recall having to update the bios, then again that was about a year ago. I oc'd the i5 from the app the mobo comes with. The only thing I remember doing in the bios was using XMP for my mermory to run @ 1866. It was quite easy to navigate. Thank god for a bios with a GUI.

Nice build. If you want to go an extra mile you could change your 780's logo color:

I was actually thinking of painting the windforce card green. I believe Linus has video on it.

Right. If I get a 970 later this year I would get the reference model and change the logo to purple... how awesome would that be.

  • 1 point

Not just the logo change, but IMHO that pink-red styling looks sick, and even better with the water cooling and all the other components.

  • 1 point

I'm tempted to water cool, but It seems really expensive. The water blocks alone are around 100$ each. the Windforce card needs a custom water block because it's not a reference pcb.By the time I have enough loot to upgrade the new 980ti may be out.

It's a "console killer" that is nearly 2 feet tall, costs $2,000 and requires a desk?

Calling that a console killer is like calling Grave Digger a tricycle killer

Yeah... Ive been told it's a bit of an understatement.

well done, although i wouldve chosen a better case

I love the looks of the enforcer , I just wish The window was larger and that it had better cable management space in the the back. It was a pain to fit the h100I in this case as well. I'm looking into the 780t or 760t, but thats 200$ that won't add much to my overall experience.

how difficult was the h100i to mount in the enforcer also how is the case for cable management? btw nice build!

  • 1 point

The H100I wasn't that difficult to fit the case once you know how to get it in there. Out of the box the the H100i doesn't necessarily fit the storm enforcer. You have to ghetto rig it a bit, which turns out not to be so difficult if you have the patience for it.The case has mounting holes designated for fans, but you have to use the grill holes to install the radiator to make it fit. You just fit it a bit off center and you don't use all the mounting holes, which will leave it a little off balance. some of the radiator also seems like it doesn't get to exhaust do to the position, but I didn't notice anything wrong with the CPU temps. Check out the storm enforcer club @ overclock.net the site was pretty helpful. the cable management is not the best especially with my sleeved extension, but if you have the patience you can make it work.Honestly if cable management was number 1 priority, I would not recommend it.I still Love the case and have no complaints other than it just got to small for my liking. I will still stand by it and Loved building in it. It oozes gaming case @ a reasonable price.I recently bought a 760T.

can anyone recommend a good triple monitor stand that will work for Asus VX228H 60Hz 21.5" Monitor

  • 1 point

The monitors don't have vesa mounts so it's pretty tricky to find a monitor stand for it.

  • 1 point

How are those monitors

  • 1 point

I like them. Width wise they're pretty thin. the bezels can be bit thinner but they're OK if you use bezel correction. Also its the cheapest monitor with a 1 ms respond time.

  • 1 point

Thanks, are they big enough or r they to small

  • 1 point

If you can afford to get the bigger sizes, you should. They can definitely benefit from having more vertical height real estate. But they are just fine for me and they fit on the desk just perfect.

Unfortunately no. They don't have the standard vesa mounts.
