Description

7700k, 1080Ti, NVMe M.2 drive, it works! I recently updated a 2600K with SLI 980s to this and am happy with the results.

Gaming, work, everything. There's also 40TB usable in a closet and computers all over the house.

Why do you need so much storage?

Data hoarder and too cheap just to buy bigger drives. The old M4 is a dev drive with WinXP, 7, and 8 parts on it. The 2 500GB EVOs were steam drives, but I abandoned trying to keep all games on SSDs, just the ones I actively play. The 1TB 840 EVO is RAW photos and home videos, the 5TB is steam(650+ games)/origin/uplay and such. 3TB mirrored is a collection of old stuff I'm too lazy to prune, it started out as mirrored 500s, moved to 1TB and just copied all of the crap from the 500s, and continued to evolve, 2TB, 3TB, soon they'll go to 5. HP N40L is an OTA tuner capture box(HD Homerun tuners) and security camera server. The Synology is the backup box 4 PCs and 3 laptops in the house and currently trying blackblaze B2 on it as well. The netgear replaces a whole wall of bluray and dvd movies and feeds fireTVs in the house with Kodi on them.

It's a bit much and I'm about 60% utilization right now, but I'm used to being a data packrat at home and work. At work I have over 2PB in my group's master SAN with about more 3PB scattered across the globe.

needs more. You must attempt RAID 10

Synology is RAID5, Netgear is RAID6, HP is RAID 10, 3TBs are just RAID1(mirrored). For performance the 960 EVO NVMe drive is pretty peppy, if I get another I might stripe them to see if I can bend time.

I absolutely love this build. +1 for an amazing job with all of this storage.
