Description

This is my second build. This computer is for my father. It is replacing his old Dell. I am very happy with how this turned out: cable management and performance - wise.

Complaints I Have:

-Hyper 212 Plus was a pain to install compared to my previous cooler in my previous build ( i have also posted that build on pcpartpicker )

-I didn't get paid to do this

Things I Loved:

-The apu was faster than i expected.

  • The cable management capability was very good on the 350D especially coming from a modular psu.

  • Fast boot time

-Quiet

Some modding i did:

  • As you can see in some of the pictures, i was able to fit a 200mm fan in the front of the 350D. Of course i had to secure it with tape since there are no mounting holes for the fan.

  • I have a router that runs very hot and tends to lag when it gets hot. So i made this pc into a cooling station for it. The router is currently sitting on top of an exhaust fan which cools the thing down vastly. Internet speeds have been awesome so far.

To answer any questions you may have:

  • Why the hyper 212 plus when the evo is out? Answer: the plus is quieter and performs just as well.

  • Why 4 gb of ram? Answer: 4 is all he needs for now, and he can upgrade very easily.

  • Why the ssd? Answer: Well the budget my father gave me was, fast and cheap, so I thought an ssd would be the best option.

  • Why such a low capacity HDD? Answer: He doesn't really need much disk space and we also have 2tb of cloud storage.

Thanks for checking out my second build and ( hopefully ) reading my wall of text.

if you have any comment or questions feel free to leave them in the commnets below. Have a nice day.

The Internet Browser

People commenting on this build seem to be forgetting that. Excellent build, OP! Very clean. I like it.

i can speak from experience that even i don't use all 4GB - even when gaming. web-browsing will barely utilize 2GB at any given time, so all in all this is pretty good thinking for ~$450 altogether

Very nice, Cable management was on-par with my storm stryker. Looks great. Only complaint is how ugly the top is. Also, quality is not as good as other corsair obsidian cases. Still good though.

Is that the 200mm fan from your Storm Stryker? :)

I don't know what to do with mine...feels like such a waste just having it sit in the case box.

Also HECK YEA the H212 is a pain to install on AMD boards. I don't know how it is for FM2, but for my 990FX build I had to go out and buy an extra long screwdriver just to mount it.

Yes the 200mm fan is from my stryker. Thankfully i had an arsenal of screwdrivers at my disposal.

hey, how are you finding the a6 for all the general tasks?

I have no experience with the lower end amd cpus, the computer im looking to build will only be for email and accounts tasks as well as internet browsing. Is it fast enough for multitasking with those sorts of things? Do you ever get any slowdowns or anything?

Thanks

Never had a slowdown. Tried it with minecraft too and it maxed it out easily. I have only used it maybe 5 times since it is my father's. But he says it is real fast. The ssd is real nice too.

Your dad must be doing some high-powered internet browsing with those 2 DVD drives :)

Haha. They came from his old computer and i thought, why not? There has been times where he has needed to use 2 at once.

why buy a $100 case for a low budget build?
