Build

Iridium

by cooperj600

Description

Personal productivity/gaming PC. Was aiming for the best bang for buck build I could put together (right in the middle of the Bitcoin gold rush)...

Part Reviews

CPU

Stellar little CPU for the money

Motherboard

Not necessary for OC'ing but I liked the aesthetic. Pretty easy and intuitive BIOS.

Video Card

Love the aesthetic and RGB - and it is a workhorse

Case

Favorite tower I have worked in so far - but I don't think I'd recommend it to beginners. This is coming from the S340 Elite.

Power Supply

I can't stop buying this power supply. Trust me I've tried.

That looks sick, and great choices on components. I love the combination of white and purple.

Nice build! How are you liking the R5 1600 after using it for a while?

cooperj600 submitter 2 Builds 2 points 11 months ago

Really liking it. The platform is really starting to open up with driver/bios optimization, easy to overclock CPU and RAM now without much effort. It's at 3.8Ghz and memory running at 2800Mhz

Nice! I’m helping a friend piece together a build with that chip. Looking forward to see what it can do. Thanks for the insight!

How are you connecting all the riing fans? Controller , molex, directly on mobo?

cooperj600 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Directly to the Mobo - I did have to use one fan splitter though.

This build looks really nice! A question since I'm new to pc building, do you have to buy an rgb controller? If so, which one would you recommend? And again, beautiful build. I love it.

Thank you. No RGB controller required here. I had enough fan headers on my motherboard to only require one fan splitter, which you can pick up on the cheap. Happy building!
