Description

NOTE: I just installed the the gtx 670, and plan on installing a window in the next couple weeks. I will post new pics when done. :)

This is my first modded case build. I wanted to get away from the Huge ATX gaming case I had from college days and find something that was more fitting for the modern apartment design, but still had some style. I cant say this case was perfect because I modded it quite a bit, but it had the sleek brushed aluminum look in a mini ITX form with support for a full size power supply which were my requirements. You'll also notice that some of the parts are a couple years old as I re-used some parts from my previous build( Video card(Actually using the sapphire version, but its not on pcpartpicker), Power Supply, SSD, Memory, Mouse/Keyboard).

Case Mods:

  1. Top Mounted Dual Radiator Design for H100i.

  2. Moved Power Supply from Rear to Front, and removed intake fan.

  3. Mounted 140 mm fan in Rear.

  4. Cut down 5.25 bay mount to fit Fan Controller.

I originally had intentions of putting in a window on the side, and might still do that. That was the reason for moving the power supply forward, and using the rear fan as intake.

Was worried about GPU temps with out having a lower mounted fans, but temps during furmark were fine. Even without the lower mounted fan it seems the High CFM fans are able circulate the air enough to keep the card operating at reasonable temps. This was all with the fans running at 1000 rpm, and the noise from the case is barely audible from about a foot away. The only noise seems to be from the h100i pump. Added the bitfenix recon fan controller pretty much just for looks.

I would go ahead and do that windowed side panel mod. I think it will look great considering how well you did the other mods.

Wow, I really like this build. Nice mods man, do the side panel window! We need more modded builds on here, they are so awesome. Btw this is screaming for a nice GPU and it will be perfect!

A new GPU is on the list. My original intentions were to go with a custom water loop CPU->GPU->Rad, but wanted to get the case modded first to get a feel for how much room I would have. Glad I did because I ended up having to mod the plastic cover on this GPU to get it to fit. I think I've decided to go with the 670 because it has a small form factor option:

Based on the comments I don't think I can resist the window mod either. Thanks for comment.
