Description

CPU n Mobo : Fry's combo bundle for $188. You had to reserve online and do a store pick up. Site crashed for a good 3 hours before my order went through and somehow, 3 combo bundles were ordered. Fry's canceled 2 'cuz only 1 per customer.

Memory: On sale. 1866 speed. bought.

Storage: $120 @ rakuten for a day. Had to cancel my $130 tigerdirect order.

GPU : MISSED OUT ON DAT 7950 for $150!! settled for this guy.

Case: Kinda cheaped out.. Not the ideal thing for cable management... as you can see from the pictures :)

PSU : On sale. bronze 80+. semi modular. recognizable brand. bought.

optical drive: probably never going to use. but on sale. bought.

thermal compound: did some research and referred to :

There was a promo on the 3570k for only $149.99 on microcenter. I think he got in on a bundle with a motherboard dropping it to $130, I can be wrong though.

If you build this off of college loans you over paid. Have fun with 6% interest :). Could have bought a 6 core Intel and sli 780 ti cheaper in the long run.

Very nice build for the price. If you save some cash you can upgrade the GPU, add a cpu cooler and you're golden. Dat cable management though... :D
