Description

Build for a friend. We worked together for hours on this lol. Anyways, still waiting on the Aftermarket cooler but the intel stock is enough for now. The devil's canyon i5 is a great balance between performance and power, especially with its overclocking potention. Couple that with the Z97 Maximus Ranger and you have a killer combo. The RAM is 8GB and as always, is well enough for gaming. The small but affordable SSD allows for a fast bootup without having to spend hundreds on larger capacity ones. Only important programs and windows are on the SSD whilst everything else is stored on the 1TB HDD. The 970 Strix is a cool GPU... (pun intended) which is also both affordable and powerful, beating the GTX 780 in many benchmarks. The larger PSU also gives us room for future upgrades, such as LEDs, a second GPU or more HDDs. The red trim on the H440 is also a sexy addition to the desk :3

post some pictures of the final build.

How come you went with that MoBo? seems expensive, but maybe there are some other benefits.

Probably just for the looks and it's decent, you would want something that matches having that giant window.

The motherboard has the best onboard audio for a z97 board in the sub $250 range, it also comes with a lot of exclusive software that is surprisingly useful but more of a gimmick. Other than that, it's just the quality and performance you would expect from a brand like Asus, especially with the ROG branding. However the client decided most of the parts and i think they went for it mainly because of the aesthetics and the red theme :3 Because it's only $40 more than the z97 gaming 3, it seemed like a good idea to my friend, we decided to go with it. But you could say he fell for the hype/marketing :/
