Description

By day I am a mild mannered accountant and at night I do photo-shop. I hope to do some serious video editing in the coming year.

I built my first system in 1991 with an Intel 80286 CPU, back when most people still used DOS and not Windows. 1 Megabyte (not gigabyte) of RAM cost $1,000, and a 100 Megabyte (not gigabyte) hard drive also cost $1,000. Here I am building another system.

I am not a gamer, I just love strong powerful computers. The heaviest gaming I do is to play backgammon and hearts at the same time.

The system is up and running and it is the fastest I've ever had.

Thanks to PCPartPicker for helping me to get the best prices on everything. I actually got the cpu for $70 less.

Nice work. We have very similar parts on the x99 build w/5820K. I just put in the last part, MSI's 970 GTX and it's all working well. I've also been a PC-building hobbyist since the early 1990's. First build was a 386/33Mhz. You got the setup to game anything you want now.

Thanks. I just added a couple of logisys fans and another couple of hard drives (my old backup drives). I got a set of grado head phones and tomorrow I hope to pick up the speaker wire to put on some speakers. I got the Pioneer SP-BS22-LR speakers and a Lepai 2020A amp.

I also just bumped up the memory from 16 gb to 32 gb!!
