Description

After a couple of months of saving i can finally make my first desktop. I have always used laptops, the laptop i am currently using is my 2 year old Toshiba Satellite. Will Begin the Build in 1/2 Days when i don't have to go to College.

I plan to use the machine for streaming and gaming mostly.

Intel i7-4790k - For my CPU, i went with the best available right now for gaming and rendering and so on. I got it for $280 in Microcenter 10 minutes from my house which was a great deal as i saved $60 since Amazon and Newegg is $330,$340.

Nzxt Kraken X61 - I wanted liquid cooling on my PC since its my first build and everybody is doing liquid cooling now for efficient gaming. I might overclock a bit in the future.

Gigabyte Ga-Z97X - Heard good things about this board and it was a bundle with the Intel i7 which saved me $40.

Corsair Vengeance Pro - Great ram, I went with 16GB of ram instead of 8GB because i wanted my computer to never freeze no mater what i do because i am a little bit of a Tab fiend.

Samsung 850 Evo - I wanted to install my System and some of my most demanding games on SSD so my computer and games can load fast.

Western Digital Caviar Blue - Went with this hard drive only because i need space for my movies, Tv shows that i watch from time to time. Also need spaces for some games that are more then 20+ GB.

EVGA Gtx 970 - This card is a beast any game at 1080p will be maxed out at 60fps. Also went with this one because i wanted to play all of my games in Ultra settings. Will buy a second one soon for 2 way Sli, after the summer and i have worked and saved up some more money.

Nzxt H440 - Best case ever, best case for the price. Great cable management.

EVGA 850w - Best PSU out there. Went with this one instead of 750w because of the easy cable management and is the best out there right now.

Acer XB270h - Wanted a 144hz 1 ms monitor because it comes with nvidia g sync. Might buy a second monitor in a couple of months, a Samsung 4k monitor.

Keyboard - Will buy a Corsair k70 Rgb when i have the money soon.

Mouse - I have bough a Logitech G600 gaming mouse a while back and i love it it comes with 12 Programmable keys. Love it

Will Post more pictures as soon as they become available.

Tell me what you think of this build guys.

Update #1 - Have to go and get my case, psu from my local post office thursday so i can start the build Friday, Saturday.

I can promise you, a single GTX 970 will NOT be a 1440P Monster. I'm running a GTX 780Ti with the ASUS ROG Swift display, and I plan on upgrading to a pair of Titan X cards within the next year. I notice you mention adding a second display, maybe 4k...if you plan on gaming on a pair of 1440p displays or 4K, the GTX970 is going to be woefully under powered. The only thing keeping me happy with the single GTX 780Ti right now is the G-Sync. I'm not pushing the monitor with one card, it's almost wasting it right now.

I just looked at specs on your Acer monitor, it's only 1080P, so the GTX 970 will be OK for that.

A pair of GTX 970 cards in SLI with the 3.5GB memory issue...might drive 1440P OK, but not 4K. I guess it depends on expected performance. I'm getting a pair of Titan X cards for a single 1440P display. I want the highest frame rate possible. I gave up on my idea of 1440P Suround, 2 cards won't cut it at the frame rates I expect. And to go to more than 2 cards is a new motherboard, CPU, ram etc... so until I build a new machine, that's not happening.

I'm still waiting and hoping for a GTX 980 Ti... If they come to be, I my go for a pair of those instead. Otherwise it's a pair of Titan X cards as my next round of upgrades.

Let me clarify, my monitor is 1440P and 144hz. So I want as close to 144 fps as possible, in every game. I want to push that monitor to the max. That's why 4k has no interest to me...at least for now. FPS is far too low.

I've seen a lot of people post pictures of unfinished builds just to come back later and post that its finished.

I posted my completed build last year, minus my GPU...the first one I ordered was too big for my case...I was waiting for my second card to get here. I got shredded and down voted for it. I'm glad to see that's not happening here...but this IS "completed" builds. What we have here is a part list, and some pictures of boxes.
