Description

Completed build for my son as gaming PC for CS GO, Rainbow Siege and potentially Battlefield 1 etc. I did not encounter any issues putting the things together. Used new Corsair Hydro Series H45 cooler that performs very well so far. Gigabyte Wireless Network Adapter is on Order as the PC is currently connected via 1GB Cat 5E cable but will be used in WiFi mode in the future.

Update 25-Jun-2016

Received/installed network adapter - works fine, no issues!

Update 09-Jul-2016

Now with red led stripes!

Nice build. What's the reason you went with an I7-6700K? For gaming (not to mention being a young lad) - isn't that a little overkill for him? Maybe you're thinking he'll get into heavy video / rendering in the future. Also - I recently just completed a build and am happy with the Wireless Adapter you have on order - used the same one. Your son is a lucky young man - solid build that will last him a long time - but space to add/ tweak where he desires.

Guys, thanks a lot for your great comments!!!

Initially I was planning to use i5 but finally decided to use i7 so that the build could potentially work with new gen games... I totally agree that i7 is currently "on the bench".

The build will be used with IIYama Gaming 4K "freesync" screen: http://www.iiyama.com/gb_en/products/g-master-gb2888uhsu-b1/ so Fury X looks like a natural fit.

So far Fury X performs very well (yet connected to full-HD screen), but still need to see it in 4K mode...

Hi, what's your temps on i7 @stock , and in OC mode (full load, and idle)? Coz i'm planning to buy this cooler or noctua u12s they are in the same price group. Thanks :)

Unfortunately, the rig is out of my reach so I cannot do the test...

However, my impression about the cooler is good and the build is solid so I would buy again! :)

+1 For the Fury X I rarely see that card be used but overall very nice of a build and your son will definitely be happy with it

Just a note though in early 2017 AMD is going to be releasing VEGA 10 which will be much more powerful than the Fury X for the same price so keep a eye out for Vega
