Description

New build for 2014, old build was getting old.

Main uses are gaming, school work and video/photo editing & rendering.

CPU: Not a hardcore video editor/renderer but i still do some rendering and photo/video work when i can. So it is unnecessary for my uses where a 4670K would have more than sufficed, but it was a gift.

CPU cooler: Picked it up for $50. Does what it needs to do, doesn't block any ram slots and keeps my CPU very cool when gaming and under load.

Thermal Compound: Non-conductive high performance thermal compound which was cheap.

Motherboard: Great motherboard, aesthetically and feature wise. Updated to latest bios through the USB feature.

Memory: Salvaged from old rig, w/ an extra stick 4GB stick laying around gave me 16GB of RAM which is great and saved me $220.

Storage: Even faster performance than before in my old rig. I run them in RAID 0 and have RAID 0 TRIM support from the latest bios update. Enough space for my needs, for now. Boots in <10s. 1GB Sequential Read speeds.

GPU: Insane performance for an insanely low price in Australia. Runs a bit hot and a bit of coil whine but doesn't bother me.

Case: Love the design and QC is very high. Will consider custom watercooling for this case.

PSU: Actaully a v2 model of the NZXT Hale90 and is made by FSP, very good quality and pricing is decent. REASON for this overkill of a PSU is because end of this year i will be upgrading to whatever is the best at that point in time, and will be getting 2 of those 'whatever is the best for me' for SLI/Crossfire.

Monitor: Its 1440P, its PLS, and i didn't have to spend $650 on an ASUS model, saving me $275. I did OC it 96Hz and max OC was 120Hz but flickering occurred, so i backed it down to 96Hz.

Keyboard: Just came in today. You can FEEL the quality Ducky has put into this. Currently using the reactive function.

Mouse: Newer revision of the mamba series. It's still good but i'm currently looking to further improve on this in the future.

Speakers: Taking a rest from headphones and just using my speakers until the ATH-ADG1's come out.

Ducky Leather Wrist Rest: I like wrist rests.

Razer Goliathus Speed Edition mouse mat: Not much to say, it's nice.

nice build. I live in Australia too but I'm trying to source all my parts from Amazon and get them shipped here. It looks like i'll be able to save about $400-500 on all the parts. But your build is amazing. Oh and where did you get the keyboard from??? Also that's not a bad gift you got there...

I was thinking of getting stuff from amazon but it's limited on what you can have sent over here. Good savings though. I got this keyboard from pccasegear. A bit expensive but well worth it.

You're gonna have fun trying to get mantle to work on dual gpu when the non beta drivers come out.

Nice to see a 7990 being used. I've seen benchmarks that show if you OC see it they can be (marginally) more powerful than a 780 Ti.

...of course it's more powerful, it's two GPUs...

Yes so tell that to all the people who are religious Nvidia users and say the 780 Ti is currently the fastest GPU on the market.

The 780 Ti is the fastest single GPU card on the market. Dual GPU cards are their own things.

a gpu is a gpu imo

And two GPUs are two GPUs. The 7990 is basically the same thing as 2 7970s in Crossfire but on one board.

Wouldn't have traveling to america back and forth still been cheaper? (to source parts)
