My first build ever for my Son. My goal was to build something cool with 1080p high settings performance for most of the games he plays. I think we did a good job with our goals, considering I know absolutely nothing about PC gaming computers. With a months worth of research and a ton of advice from people / friends who "supposedly" know what they are talking about this project was born.
I could use some thoughts about setting up the PC for optimal performance. Again, I have no idea what I'm doing so any suggestions on what to do to get the best performance would be appreciated. I was hoping for close to 60 fps for most games with high settings but this does not seem to be the case. I get 24-33 fps on Assassins Creed:Syndicate and close to the same on Just Cause 3. Now with Counter Strike Global Offensive I get over 100 fps on max settings. In reality my son loves the performance and is happy with all the games, but I'm a perfectionist and want to make sure the PC runs as best as it can. I just don't know where to begin or what to adjust. After some research, I believe I'm in the lower end, performance wise, that this setup is capable of. Any help would be appreciated. With that being said, the PC looks great in the Corsair 500R case and very happy it actually works.
Figured out my problem. I set my GPU settings back to defaults and applied my setting to the games themselves. Now I'm running a consistent 50-70 fps on JC3 with max setting, 40-60 fps on AC:Syndicate with Ultra and High settings and way over 200 fps on CS:GO with max settings. I'm also getting 60-80fps on Battlefield 4 with max settings. I think I was doubling up on most of the settings they way I had it set before I went back to the original defaults. Not only is the PC running at peak optimization, the games look better, too. I'm very happy and know I'm getting most of what I can with this set up. GPU temp never goes over 57c during game play. I also added 2 new pictures of the insides of the case per request.
