Description

I finally got around to building a Caselabs STH10 exactly how I wanted it. Drilling the holes in the upper and lower mid-plates were borderline terrifying. In the end, no leaks. Currently sitting at number 67 on Fire Strike Extreme Hall of Fame 3xGPUs. http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9286967

When you substract 5000 from the total cost of the build and still you got enough for your dream build!!!

+1

joelhowell 2 points 32 months ago

Hell subtract 6 or 7k :D

scttooo submitter 1 Build 2 points 32 months ago

Wheres the fun in that ;)

joelhowell 1 point 32 months ago

:D

SirDynamite -5 points 32 months ago

What was the point in building this.

Cough cough OVERKILL Cough Cough

scttooo submitter 1 Build 14 points 32 months ago

I wanted it???? Love when people try to make themselves feel better when their jealous by try to justify they dont need it and portraying themselves on the builder. I could afford it so I got it. Sucks you cant

Epicness937 1 point 32 months ago

true.....

DT523 -4 points 32 months ago

Not enough for my dream build, unfortunately..... http://pcpartpicker.com/list/tkXdXH

chrisdude183 10 points 32 months ago

I cringed so hard when I looked at your build...

lorenzog.music 1 Build 6 points 32 months ago

People that are professional Video Editors and Musician do not need 16TB in SSD...ever! Unless you are planning on storing 7,000 1hour RAW 5K shots, I suggest to bring down the SSDs to 1TB for OS, 1 2TB for...fun, I guess...and a couple of 500GB SSD. That way your "Dream" build" will become more of a "achievable build".

Also...128GB RAM....unless, again, you are planning to render in 4K from 4 Hollywood movie productions AT THE SAME TIME, or loading terabytes of professional sounding Virtual Instruments for 3000 instruments templates, I suggest to bring it down a 3000MHz 32GB kit...since even GTA V in 4K Ultra does not use more than 20GB of RAM.

That way, AGAIN, you "Dream build" will become even more so achievable.

My 2 cents.

scttooo submitter 1 Build 3 points 32 months ago

3 980 Tis beat 2 1080s all day. Also, a AIO cooler for a dream build? C'mon man

Dreamalittle 3 points 32 months ago

i shuddered when i saw that aio. especially posted on this page!

Dreamalittle 1 point 32 months ago

also get some real speakers. i know you can afford it. those logitechs make my ears bleed!

NitroOG 3 points 32 months ago

Most games on PC don't support 3 way sli. You are probably going to have to dedicated one gtx 980ti for Physx.

scttooo submitter 1 Build -1 points 31 months ago

Not true

pegotico 2 Builds 2 points 32 months ago

You're definitely cheaping out on the cooler.. :)

DT523 1 point 32 months ago

Which one would you suggest?

pegotico 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

The Swiftech H240 X2 Prestige or H220 X2 Prestige... You should also change the case to be able to fit all the stuff.

vpalkhiwala 0 points 29 months ago

I would recommend thee Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. That should have enough cooling power to cool your CPU :)

mrtravis2772 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

I have a 6950x and a Kraken x61. Its a tight fit in that case (put one in my last build too, I love those things) but it will work and it keeps that monster cpu nice and cool.

Jack_Pawlik 1 point 32 months ago

custom loop, custom cables, leds!?!? where is it all lol

DT523 3 points 32 months ago

I haven't gotten that far yet, kinda had to rethink my life after seeing the price tag :/

Jack_Pawlik 1 point 32 months ago

Apparently emojis erase everything.... I said,"I can't wait! :D"

ApatheticRenegade 5 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

that looks like a powerhouse of a build, but there's some stuff you need to know: 1) if you're gaming, you absolutely don't need 10 cores. gaming is more suited to quad-core and hex-core CPUS. 2) you also don't need 128gb of ram, you'd need 32gb at best, if not 16gb. 3) why on earth would you ever need 16TB of ssd space? do you intend on buying every single video game on earth? just stick with one 2TB and work your way up later if you need it. 4) from the looks of your parts list, you're gonna need a bigger case. go ATX full tower, you have ATX mid tower. 5) there are cheaper monitors from ASUS that have 144Hz at 1440p. there's no way in hell you can do 12K surround gaming, not in this day and age. maybe if you get the new pascal titan rather than two 1080s, you'd run 1440p surround gaming at 144Hz at a solid 50-60fps. 6) you're only gonna need one optical drive. 7) the corsair void headset doesn't have a good mic. i love corsair products, but get another headset, like from logitech. you could just get some good headphones and buy a dedicated microphone if you wanted to.

DT523 1 point 32 months ago

My goal with this unconventional build is to be able to do ANYTHING I set before it with 0 problems. As for the ssd space, I will admit that is too much. I have edited them to a more realistic setting :D http://pcpartpicker.com/list/gp6FtJ P.S. the Titan Z will be replaced by x2 Pascal Titans when they come out

SquadronAce 1 Build 1 point 30 months ago

Why on earth would you need 16 terabytes of SSD storage

DT523 1 point 30 months ago

Actually I updated it. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/yz3pBP Cheaper cost and better hardware _^

What a beauty and work of art you have here. I like the color scheme. And more importantly, how clean the tubes and wires are. The cherry on top is your part selection, so fantastic! You have done an amazing job with this piece of art. You have my big one and support.

scttooo submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

jesswainwright 2 points 32 months ago

You should put an X34 Preditor between those XB27s, then the set up will be sitting as pretty as the build. +1 for that parallel tubing

InvaderGir 2 points 32 months ago

This pleases me :)

digitaldiogenes 2 points 32 months ago

With a motion sensor, the right fan control software, and maybe a gyroscope, this could also be the world's first flying desktop. Just got to have vision.

gunit1111 4 Builds 2 points 32 months ago

That looks amazing. This would be my "if I won the lottery" type of PC.

SquareOreo 2 points 32 months ago

Why so much hate? This is a great build...It looks beautiful,

Don't listen to those who are hating on your build especially the ones bitching about because if your like me I doubt your ever going to even use above 700GB out of the 1.5TB. Also just as a recommendation you should get some Dominator Platinum's from Corsair and water cool your ram too unless EK or something makes water blocks for Avixer Ram...

UdiNi 1 Build 2 points 32 months ago

Good to see not everyone jumped ship for the 1080 and are still making magnificent builds such as this with the 980 Ti. +1

rumz 2 points 32 months ago

So incredibly clean. First couple times I looked at it didn't much resemble a computer for me. Thought I was looking at the other side of the case when I finally realized there was a motherboard / CPU / RAM / GPUs present, haha.

I guess after my current build-in-progress, the only way up is a custom water cooled rig that's even a fraction as clean and aesthetically pleasing. :D

Well done, sir. +1

scttooo submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Thanks man

memewaffle 2 points 28 months ago

Meithen 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Awesome build!

scttooo submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Thanks man!

CRS10114 7 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

It's a really well made build, I'll give you that. But something that no one has noted on is the lack of case fans to cool off your motherboard. Obviously you don't need to cool your CPU/GPU any further, but your mobo does need at least some air passing over it. I recommend you put some amount of fans in the front and one in the back.

scttooo submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

From my above comment: "I mounted fans on the front and back of it but my buddy with the DSLR that took the pictures had to roll out before"

CRS10114 7 Builds 2 points 32 months ago

Ah, I see. Well then, I retract my statement.

You don't have to need everything you buy.

[comment deleted by staff]
Meithen 2 Builds 2 points 32 months ago

If you are asking why he has 3-way SLI with only two 1440p monitors, you clearly have zero experience playing demanding games on 1440p monitors, especially 144hz monitors.

JacobGunther12 -1 points 32 months ago

Also, 2 way SLI on GTX 980 Ti's will basically produce somewhat near (don't quote me on that) the same performance as 3 since over 2 is wasting money and performance.

Meithen 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

This guy is HOF'ing Fire Strike Extreme and you are here trying to lecture him about his choices. Where is your build?

JacobGunther12 1 point 32 months ago

Does it matter if I have a build or not?

Meithen 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt and not judge your knowledge off of the negative comment you left on this post, but if there is no other evidence, then it's safe for me to form a conclusion.

It's ok to critique, but you had no positive criticism and you clearly don't understand that some people just want to build something to their own standards, not your own. Good night young sir!

Meithen 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Regarding your comment, you are talking about efficiency and cost. Some people are not worried about that, lol.

scttooo submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

If you read anything, I went from 70fps to 100fps in the witcher 3. You dont know what youre talking about. Just leave. You already made yourself look like an idiot

JacobGunther12 1 point 32 months ago

If you increased 30+ because of an extra GPU in 3 way SLI then that game must really utilize your GPU.

philip staff 10 Builds 5 points 32 months ago

When your feedback includes things like "cancer" and "pointless", do you really think that is constructive?

scttooo submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Thanks!

scttooo submitter 1 Build 0 points 32 months ago

So I assume you know Nvidia stopped supporting 3 and 4 way SLI with the 10xx series? probably not so Ill just point you to fire strike and the other benchmarks where there is zero 1080 setups in the hall of fame :) Lol 3 980 tis run the witcher 3 on one monitor at 100fps. Im just going to assume you know nothing so enjoy your **** post and **** comments. BTW I have a PC with 2 1080s :0

JacobGunther12 1 point 32 months ago

Well, you can still do 3-4 way SLI on NVIDIA's 1000 series GPUs but NVIDIA doesn't recommend it because it doesn't do much more performance gains. Also, NVIDIA's HBB's don't support over 2 way SLI so 2 GTX 1080's is probably equal to 3-4 GTX 1080s.

By the cancer I meant the way HE set it up, is monitors look angled at all, making it bad for his gaming setup since his monitors would look weird to look at different angles.

philip staff 10 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Look, if you don't like the way someone's monitors are angled, let it go. And please avoid calling something "cancer." You have a personal preference that is different, and that's ok. They may prefer it the way they have it, and that's ok too.
