Description

First Personal Build. Used primarily for production, software and game development, multimedia server, gaming, VR play/dev, personal home computer. Extended screen projected to Optima UHD65 4K DLP projector on 110" solid frame screen, run through Sony STRDN1080 receiver (parts not listed).

Most Everything runs perfectly ~ still a little trouble getting the USB3.0 ports to push at full speed. Currently have third 10tb hdd set to disabled ~ have not decided, yet, how to run hdds more securely (original plan was to set the three hdds up in raid5 2/3, but adding optane memory as cache/accelerator added a wrinkle there..) Currently: 1tb ssd partitioned @ 200gb boot, 750gb "production" ie apps, dev software, repos, game installs, downloads.. 10tb optane accelerated hdd "store1" for multimedia, 4k media, production storage, misc. 10tb hdd "store2" for misc, backup.

Runs very quiet, have not really pushed the system to pur, yet. Haven't overclocked the memory, cpu, or gpu. Runs pretty cool at ~45C average at base. Tower sits beside air purifier that is louder at medium-low settings than the tower. Predominantly air cooled ~ tower top vents sit right under window for extra air flow on breezy days :)

At base settings, pc earns a 13360 on 3dmark. Will update with further reports upon more benchmarking.

Still looking to set up audio zones for screen vs projector (preference is for all content running on screen 1 to play through zone 1 speakers (attached to tower via D1 DAC) and content on screen 2 to play through zone 2 speakers connected to receiver).

Mouse pad wirelessly charges my Pixel 3 phone(slow) :)

This is gorgeous. What a beast. I have those same speakers (in white) and they pack a punch! I love them.

Killer build friendo.

What temps do you get from that cpu and the cooler and btw the build and full setup looks pretty cool !

Thank you ~ so generally, either idle or under low strain, I've seen the cpu core will hover between 47-51C. With load, I've seen it reach up to 60C. System hasn't really been pushed yet, though.

Nice build! Any issues with the GPU so far (I know it's a recent post)? I've been eyeing this GPU for a few weeks but saw RMA issues with this particular model so been hesitant.

Yeah the build's still a bit too new to say for sure. So far I have had no issues with the card, particularly of the nature described per a cursory search for issues with the card. I will update if anything.

Looks great! Mouse and keyboard seem a little to far away from each other for comfort but you do you
