Description

A couple of months ago i decided that i want to build my own PC. Now it finally happened. I set it up yesterday and it runs very smoothly. Until now i only played a bit Borderlands and I had always over 62 FPS wih the settings maxed out and with a 1920x1200 Resolution. Very happy with it. Please note that the prices of the Parts are those from Switerland. That is why they are higher as usual. Everything is way more expensive here :(. And yes, i picked that name because it is silly :D.

Disclaimer: As said this was my first ever PC build and I only really know the basics of PC stuff. So bear with me ;) CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions are appreciated :D

UPDATE: I Installed a be quiet! Pure Rock Slim and it is really awesome! PC is less loud and the CPU temps dropped to 29°C when Idle and to 56 under Load.

Update 20.7.17: I just ordered a samsung 960 Evo 250GB. I want to store my games on it. Up to now i store my games on a 5400 RPM HDD. so that is going to be way better. I'll keep you guys posted!

Update 22.7.17: The 960 Evo just arrived and the installation was very easy! i stored all the games i play regularly on it and they load way faster¨certainly was a good choice!

Update 27.10.17: I ordered an i7 7700, a Seasonic focus+ 750W platinum PSU and finally an Asus strix 1080 Ti 11G.

Update 31.10.17: All the parts have arrived i will install them on the weekend and post a new Build log since its basically gona be a new computer :D I'm super excited

Part Reviews

CPU

Works like a charm and is a real bang for the buck! I recommend this for every budget build.

CPU Cooler

neat little CPU cooler! Keeps my G4560 cool

Motherboard

Really nice Motherboard! It is perfect for me. The only downside in my opinion is, that it has only 2 PWM fan headers.

Memory

This was on sale so I got 16 GBs for just 100 bucks. Works great!

Storage

Absolutely love it! loads my games so much faster

Storage

Really love the SSD. It makes such a huge difference!

Storage

Works nicely and build quality is good. WD HDD are a bit expensive though.

Video Card

Nice little GPU! I can play all my favourite games on high settings at 60 fps with no problems.

Case

Nice case if you are on a budget. Cable managment could be better but this could also be a problem on my side. Its my first build and i just suck at cable managment ;)

Power Supply

Really nice build quality! Until now it works really good :D I'm sure that i can use this PSU for my next PC too.

Case Fan

Nice fan! really quiet

Case Fan

bought it for the LED. looks nice in my system and isn't too loud

Just finished a very similar build (g4560, 1050ti, 16gb 2400), and its a great 1080/60 gaming machine. Not sure why anyone would build a more expensive rig if they are targeting 1080/60.

( I got the 1050ti for $105 in case anyone wants to say 'yea but 570'. I also built two of these , one for each kid, so saving $40-$50 on a component = $80-$100 total, AND the low power draw was important since they are on the same surge protector, and I don't want to be tripping breakers)

Lobsterareawesome submitter 5 Builds 1 point 7 months ago

exactly. I have a 60 hz monitor anyway so it doesnt really matter.

Great budget build.

Thumbs up.

Thank you ;) the PC fever has gotten to me.. I already want to upgrade.. the struggle

Good build +1!

I've got the exact same motherboard and I'm waiting on my RAM to get here so that I can start my build. I am on a super-tight budget so I was only able to get the Intel G4400 CPU ($48.49usd shipping included). Your CPU and Video Card are better than mine and I'm glad for you!

If you get a chance, post more pictures especially of the interior of your computer.

Lobsterareawesome submitter 5 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

ah ok.. the g4400 will do fine.. not for all games though since it is not hyper threaded. I would start saving now and buy a better CPU as soon as you can. What GPU did you buy? and yeah ill post more pics

latc1956 2 points 1 month ago

Thanks for your build! I have already started to save up for a better CPU, it's going to take me awhile due to the high prices of generation 6 and 7 Intel CPU's. That's what my new motherboard supports.

I will end up using my Nvidia GTX 750 Ti graphics card out of my old rig. I don't game except for a couple of older games so graphics is not that big of an issue. I will also salvage the PSU, DVD drive, SSD, and 2 HDD's. They are all pretty much up-to-date -- just used a bit.

My old rig has lasted me for at least 6-7 years without a problem and it will still be going after I rob parts from it. It is just passing away slowly. The Northbridge chip set is acting up, but I'll install old but functioning parts in the unit and keep using it as long as possible. I hope I get the service out of my 'newer' build that I got out of the old rig. Good on the pics...

Great build for out of the states.

Also prices are really higher outside of US. Nice going on build, pretty balanced.

Can I use ASRock B150M motherboard for penium G4560

Lobsterareawesome submitter 5 Builds 0 points 6 months ago

You can. but you need to update the BIOS first. For that you need an older compatible Skylake CPU. I would get a Motherboard with the B250 Chipset. With those you dont have to update the BIOS. They are the same generation as the G4560. If you have a Skylake CPU on hand then a B150 Motherboard is an option. If you dont have one then get a B250 Motherboard

I have commented this about 10 times in the past week but it still stands. Why the 1050ti. For the same price you could get an rx 470 or maybe even a 480 at that price. At this point any 1050ti above $120 is a joke.

BazNaz 2 points 7 months ago

lease note that the prices of the Parts are those from Switerland

Not everyone lives in America mate

Synchro 1 Build 1 point 7 months ago

Calm yourself bud. Did you read the post? He doesn't live in the US so his prices are higher.

And why not the 1050Ti? Sure, the pricier ones aren't necessary, but they're fairly priced (some of them) 1080p cards for medium-high settings, and that's perfect for most people

cryptichax 1 point 6 months ago

HE SAID HE GOT THE 1050 TI FOR 105 DOLLARS

Selicos 0 points 7 months ago

Exactly. I got an Rx 470 for $130 after rebate. It crushes the 1050ti.

Nullarc77 2 Builds 1 point 7 months ago

Wow. I got my 470 for $165 and that was a good price about a month ago. I would have taken it back when the 570 launched if it actually provided a game play improvement greater than 3 percent.

SubNauticaWaterWorld47 1 Build 1 point 7 months ago

If you overclock that 470 you basically have a stock 570.

Nullarc77 2 Builds 1 point 7 months ago

I know. But the 570 doe shave a higher tdp so you can overclock it further. But i don't want to over clock it since it will lower the life span. I will be upgrading around this time next year which is probably when volta will release.

SubNauticaWaterWorld47 1 Build 1 point 7 months ago

But I don't want to overclock it since it will lower the life span

While overclocking might shorten the life span the failure point of the overclocked card will be way beyond its useful life.

I grabbed the MSI Armor RX 470 (poor fans but decent cooler) for $130 after rebate, $160 sticker, in January. I'm into small form factor and considering something with a single slot/half height GPU next once something like an RX550 can power 1080p as well as the 470.

Lobsterareawesome submitter 5 Builds 0 points 7 months ago

The cheapest rx 470 was 215 bucks.. welcome to switzerland. 1050 was cheaper and good enough for me. not everyone lives in the US ya know? and considering that i don't really play games that are very demanding it just wasnt worth it for me paying 50 bucks more.

Nullarc77 2 Builds 2 points 7 months ago

Wow. That is a crappy price for both cards since a US Dollar is equal to .99 of a Swiss Franc according to Google.

Lobsterareawesome submitter 5 Builds 0 points 7 months ago

yeah. Switzerland is so much more expensive. So if the prices were as low as the US ones i would have bought a 470 for sure. Just didn't have the Money.

Sabernova 0 points 7 months ago

Don't know if this is only in Europe. But here you shouldn't bother with the RX 470 and RX 480 as they cost as much here as their successors the RX 570 and the RX 580. Those go for around 180-300 euros here (belgium).
