An all-purpose computer that, unfortunately, will be used primarily for word processing and internet browsing. However, I wanted something that is capable of holding its own for next-gen AAA titles. Thus, the 1070 seemed like the more reasonable choice for me, given the steep price for a 1080. Also, there's always the option to grab another 1070 and run them in SLI.
Overall, the computer's performance has exceeded my expectations. I have the CPU overclocked at 4.4GHz and haven't bothered to tweak the GPU, but it has effortlessly handled everything I've thrown at it so far. I am easily getting 60fps on my 3440x1440 LG monitor with most settings maxed out (Witcher 3, GTA V, Bioshock Infinite, and Overwatch).
The one piece of hardware that has truly stood out is the Samsung 950 NVMe SSD, which has made boot and load times literally instantaneous. I would highly recommend investing in one if you have a mobo capable of supporting it. I plan on grabbing another one soon and running them in RAID 0.
This was my first build, so any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Cheers!
