Description

Primarily I use this rig for gaming and soon recording and editing for YouTube. I can max out all the games I play (Fallout 4, Black Ops 3, Grid Auto Sport etc.) at a stable 60 FPS and up. This build has been a major headache from having to trouble shoot installing Windows for 7.5 hours and having to make unexpected last minute upgrades. Once it was all done, it's been a beast that I have fallen in love with. I apologize for the horrendous cable management as there is no space or way to get the cables behind the motherboard tray. Note that my buddy gave me his AMD FX-8350 heat sink as it is an upgrade from the cooler that comes with the FX-6300.

Why the hell does everyone on here lie about their temps

Probably not lying on purpose at least in the case of AMD CPUs often don't cooperate with monitoring software very well resulting in impossible temperatures readings. Also, it is winter here in the USA so maybe he has a window open or is in a garage or something and you are making a very broad assumption that he/she is lying.

I live in the US too. Kind of hard to say they're not lying when the cpu is on a stock cooler and it says its running at 10c and the gpu is at 15c. No way in hell is that true

I am well aware of what temperatures they are reporting, but it is not hard to give benefit of the doubt to the OP or acknowledge you don't know why those temperatures are or are not what they are instead of attacking that person's character and calling them a liar. For instance you could have instead stated something relevant to possibly finding more accurate temperature readings like confirming the CPU temperature in the motherboard UEFI or BIOS or trying other software to confirm the temperature readings rather than throwing unsubstantiated claims against someone else's character.

Given we do not know the OP's ambient air temperature or method for temperature measurement it is easier to say that the OP is not lying and more likely is experiencing software error or something else we don't know about.

Typically the garage is warmer than the rest of the house due to the fact that that is where the hot water boiler is and the fact the the AC does not flow directly into the garage. Now i'm not agreeing with CleverJimmy about him lying. I agree with you saying that it was probably a software monitoring error because it happened to me too, but what you are saying about how his temps could be true because he "has a window open" or "is in the garage" is wrong unless it is snowing, which is possible his CPU would still not hit 10 C along with gpu at 15 C. That is just not logical due to the fact that AMD CPU's run hotter than say an Intel CPU and he is using the stock cooler. Before everyone goes and gets on this poor mans head about how he is lying, suggest ways he can fix this problem. No need to beat him up about what is probably a simple mistake.

I'm not lying about temps, seriously.

How is your idle temp 10c on a stock cooler?

Could have gotten 1tb hard drive if you use $8 more.

I just had the 500Gb laying around, figured I'd use it for something.

+1 for used parts and a parts value!

So glad to see a "first build" that isn't like 2 grand which is insane to me.

Dude, you're using an AMD CPU which runs hot to begin with and yours using the stock cooler... There is no way you idle at 10 degrees and under load at 60. I have that same gpu also and don't idle at 15 and load 60. That is ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and go get MSI afterburner, it's a free utility that show temps, usage and fan speed along with overclocks gpu if you want. Then go and change those freaking temps. People who water cool dont even hit those temps sometimes

That's what I used to get the temp. readings.

Holy crap! You're FX-6300 idles at 10C?

I'm cooling my FX-6300 with a Corsair H105 and the lowest I've ever seen my temps would be 16C!

Lots of people have lots of things to say. It's a nice build.

What are those fans like for noise and cooling? Looking at getting some for a friend's build

Yeah, very quiet but provide great airflow.

Was the rig a complete success with 60 fps recording?

Yes it is. It took a bit of fiddling around in OBS but I did manage to get it stable.

LET'S COME UP WITH MORE CREATIVE NAMES THAN "First Computer Build." OKAY PEOPLE? OKAY.

It's just a title, no need to get angry. :P
