Description

This build was for gaming, and running a minecraft server, mainly. The games it were meant for we're mainly crysis, bioshock, and metro.

The graphics card is great, and comes overclocked to 1200mhz. It runs crysis 1, everything maxed 16x AA at 55-60fps and with AA set to 4x, it runs easily at 75+ fps

It has tons of ram to drive a minecraft server while playing other games and just to be future proof. The only problem, that has been solved now is the screen and graphics were glitching with Ubuntu (dual boot)

only tip i have is mount the drives in the bottem drive cage and remove the middle one for better airflow.

750watts is a bit overkill for this build, you could have also gotten Windows 8.1 Pro for $70 if you called yourself a "Student".

750W should give room for SLI or GPU upgrade in the future if desired.

I'm curious, how do you do this?

Some universities offer free windows 8 or discounted prices for it.

Like what sirhcits said, being enrolled to a university or K-12 System allows you to get Windows 8.1 Pro for a heavily discounted price.

I believe though that you can get Windows 8.1 Pro for free if your enrolled in a computer science course in college.

We'll I am in high school and I tried that already. They were using windows 7 pro 64-bit. I asked and they lady in charge of the whole tech thing said she can't because of the archdiocese and microsoft... Or something like that

Another problem is the case fan is not spinning, but it is plugged in to a fan header. It might be temperature controlled, but while playing crysis it even wasn't spinning

I would try switching fan headers and checking again. It could be a mobo issue as they are the least reliable component.

We got it fixed: one fan got disconnected

You should move your drive to the bottom cage. This way, you can remove the middle cage and have an unobstructed airflow from the front intake.

I like the build, next time you should get a K processor so overclocking would be possible. I support the idea of choosing a 750Watt powersupply if you want to upgrade.

Darn you! You got a blue cm tk keyboard. That's been out of stock in most places, I ended up getting the blackwidow.

Anyways, nice build!
